Have to agree that is a good choice of VP Actualy I think she would make a damn fine President as well The Lady dont pull her punches
He picked someone that had been vetted, but was not given much in the odds for being picked. I had hoped he would pick her, but I really thought he would go for Romney or Pawlenty. I think she will have a broad appeal and really shakes up the whole race quite a bit. A conservative and fairly young woman, and a mother of 5 children.
Just watched her introduction as VP and have to say she came over as a very strong Lady, I think this race has now become very interesting indeed And on the plus plus side she is a HOCKEY FAN It was also interesting that the only Democrat that she mentioned in her speech was Hillary Clinton I do not like Tucker Bounds though he reminds me of a used car salesman LOL
Remember folks, last week I made her MY choice, the unknown strong conservative value candidate, proven executive leadership experience, and a WOMAN. Yeee Hawww. Obama who? Somebody better tell Gypsy the election is back on.
I was reading that she was a runner up in the Miss Alaska contest back in 1984, she just looks like a smart woman, maybe it is the glasses or something. She is HOT. McCain is brilliant. I hope he may well have locked up the election with this selection. She is NRA, conservative, with a proven track record of going after corruption and the big oil companies, even though her husband works for BP. I think there can be no doubt that she is her OWN WOMAN and will be a strong figure.
LMAO The O campaign is stuttering something about her LACK OF EXPERIENCE, LMAO, ROFLMAO. She has MORE experience tha Obama.
She has a bio that would suggest she is a go getter, and willing to take on the establishment and stir things up. In the 2006 election she ran against a Republican Governor, Frank Murkowski and won. She then went in and cleaned house with doing away with the 200M bridge to nowhere project, got rid of the oil company perks etc. I am much less concerned about her lack of experience, and more concerned with what she can get into and stir up in Washington. She appears to be a very quick study, and someone that can land on their feet. McCain trumped everybody by picking her. The old boy has a sly side to him, must have gotten it from Roberta McCain, his feisty 96 year old mother.
Oh, and she looks better than this other longshot candidate for VP: Yeppers folks, that really is Rudy Giuliani, Presidential candidate until earlier this year. Aidan would have been proud.
You know the Obama campaign is on the ropes when they spend the day comparing the experience of their Presidential candidate to the the Repubs VP candidate!
If McCain wins she most likely will be the first women president. Wonder if that thought line was thought of as being attractive enought to get the majority women vote.
Well this sure makes me think that the Repos are getting it. Back to strong conservative ideals, fiscal responsibility. I do admit a bit of a charge out of this, and will welcome my exiled Repo party back with open arms if they continue to demonstrate this sort of judgment and tact. Only hearing the press conferance this morning, and getting a heads up last night from my KFYI talkshow buddy, it has been a good day. I'll watch this on reruns tonight no doubt. It is a bad day in the Obama camp, and you know Hillary is just tickled, knowing this took the wind out of the Saviours sails..... Now on the the convention and the election. Lets see how the dems choose to handle this, SHE beats O in every way, so, look for sharp vicious attacks.
Yeah, I think this has to have them reeling a bit. I would have bet he would have done something dumb like go with Romney or Ridge. I may just be back in the Republican camp. And, yeah, Hillary has to be grinning a bit. lol
You've got to remember that Governor Pailin is not the first woman to be selected on the American presidential ticket, but the second one. The very first woman to be chosen on a presidential ticket was Geraldine Ferraro by Walter Mondale (who is himself a former Vice-President of America) back in 1984.Of course, they lost to Ronald Reagan (who was re-elected as President of America) & George Bush Snr. (who became both a Vice-President & a President of America). Aidan.
Yes, Ferraro was also on the Clinton campaign, and fired over remarks perceived as racist. Palin is the first for the GOP.
How was Geraldine Ferraro involved with Bill Clinton's campaign? I know that it was Al Gore who was Bill Clinton's Vice-President for both of Clinton's terms. Aidan.
LOL. Aiden, She was working for Hillary, not Bill, up until March of this year. She was forced to resign after stating that Obama would not be a strong candidate if he was not black, then refused to retract the statement. She was a high level campaign manager in Hillarys finance dept.
There is the question of her possibly using her position of Governor of alaska to fire a state trooper who was married to her sister, but even the Democrats who are leading the investigation say she has been more than open, I just hope that they do not try to use this as a smear campaign
Steve, Governor Palin has got a very strong track record as far as the fight against corruption goes. Does anyone know how popular Governor Arnold 'The Governator' Schwarzenegger of California is? I know that he has done a lot of good ever since he replaced the disgraced Gray Davis in the recall election a few years back, especially in the fight against crime,& getting California's state economy back onto the right path. Aidan.
