Funny but I view the "current" Democrat party as big brother since they want so much control over our lives with the exception of abortion where they want death. Post Script: I do not view Bush as a true Republican with all of his borrow and spend programs.
My conservative friends abstained from voting in the pres election because of this, basically they were ****ed and betrayed. Btw the dems control NOTHING, only a few state legs (basically that is nothing)
man i love how any post on here (and this one was a land mind) gets one guy bashing the dems and another guy bashing the repubs.lol oh and i think the gov in "1984" would have been fascist and not socalist democrate. what i like is that it shows how dangerous the media can be when it only speaks for the best interest of the govenment and corporations. and guess who the media is speaking for now.
I can not speak for Danr, but actually I am disappointed with both major political parties right now. Where is the vision, where is the statesmanship. where is the leadership. I only wish that the debate the TV show "Westwing" showed a week or two ago was real. I would have been happy to have voted for either one of those two fictional presidential candidate characters and could have cared less about the party membership. Danr I have to disagree about what the Dems control for I see buildings upon buildings and layers upon layers of government workers and programs which are filled with Democrats as administrators who do set internal and external policies. Not the typical line of thought when one speaks of political control but I view it as such.
I read that book a few months ago, and I didn't see how today is similar to it. Am I missing something here? Or am I just naive?
As I recall they had Patriot act style surveillance And a villian who everyone was told to hate (Osama) And a Republican Fox news style double speak. Again I need to revisit the book my details may be wrong.
