I have used the healthcare system but never once have you, the government or any other individual been asked to subsidize it for me- I either paid the bill out of my pocket or had the insurance coverage I was responsible enough to purchase myself pay for it.
So I'll ask, why should I have to be commanded under penalty of law to participate in a gov't mandated plan?

To elaborate further, having government subsidized health care is even more optional than driving. If you cover yourself or have an employer provided plan, you do not have to participate in the government health care pool. If you do find yourself without health care for whatever reason, you will be put in that pool (of private insurers) and pay according to your means.

You are already "forced" to go on Medicare when you turn 65 because those private insurers you love so much want no part of covering your health care costs after insuring you all those years before you finally got old enough to actually start needing more health care. So I guess I am all for being "forced" to buy health care when I really think about it. So should you my friend.

The skinny is that there were other ways for the government to force people to have health coverage but they were not politically viable. So, they chose an expedient way that was politically viable but which may be unconstitutional.

Why are not Americans flocking to England and Canada for our healthcare? If it such a great system, you'd think we would all fly to Cuba for the Michael Moore health care plan........

No one of ill health in America has flown to another country for treatment of what ails them?

You ask if there is a pattern. I definitely see one. Those who take are addicted to taking and cannot earn it are for it. Those who pay are tired of paying for someone else are against it.

Canada is on the edge of disaster, aren't they? Michael Moore shines a light on the right. Hard to understand why they hate him.

Michael Moore does whats best for Michael Moore. He has become a multi-millionaire by blasting other multi-millionaires...he has succeeded as a Capitalist by blasting fellow Capitalists. He is a corporation all his own & is guilty of the trappings & excess he "exposes" in others. What ever happened to the story that exposed Moore as a pretty big shareholder in BP, BoA, Citibank, GM and several other evil corporations? Basically, Moore is exactly what he pretends to hate and those enchanted by his yarns & hypocrisy are simply too stupid to realize they are mere pawns in the joke he is playing on America.
