Yep, tax rates were higher. And when Reagan cut them, we wound up with the longest continuous growth in USA history. Look it up.

You need to show the the figures for how much debt Bush accumulated and how much BO is responsible for.

OK, I exaggerated. It should have been billions unspent. Point is still that when you say the tax cuts have not worked, it was the solution that did not work. However, when BO's spending did not work, it was the system that was too badly broken. So which is it?

But you just said in your very last post #79 that, "that leaves returning to the first 150 years where we had minimal taxes" I looked that up and now you're changing your tune. You now want to to believe the Republican suplyside myths about reaganomics that were proven wrong decades ago and continue to be proven wrong. Giving the wealthy all the money only starves the government and deregulation just allows multinationals to drive our country into the economic grave yard. Bush did exactly the same thing and where are we today? Who knows, maybe you're just exaggerating again.

I never changed a thing. I said "I guess that leaves returning to the first 150 years where we had minimal taxes and virtually no Federal government interference." Just exactly what does that change?

Next, "You now want to to believe the Republican suplyside myths about reaganomics that were proven wrong decades ago and continue to be proven wrong." Proven by whom? When? (BTW, please notice that I quoted your entire sentence rather than changing it like you did to me.) And, FWIW, your quoting mediamatters (even though you have admitted they are biased) so I can quote Fox will get us nowhere. That is the purpose of this thread - to show that it does or does not.

Here, tell me about the longest continuous growth in history after reading this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_1990s_recession

I don't have to look this stuff up, I was there.

From your reference, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_recessions_in_the_United_States. I am sorry, it was the second longest time.

    Your unanswered questions keep growing!

HOLY COW !!!!! I just caught this !!!! It's the governments money now? They " give us " our money back? I was with the thought that the money was ours in the first place !!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you would prefer England where they are now proposing that employers give paychecks directly to the government, which will then determine what you deserve.........

The more a lib speaks (or posts) the more his true inner beliefs are exposed. It never fails, like in the case of tomc, just let them ramble & sooner or later the beliefs they are too afraid to speak will come out.
