Sure didn't happen to Martha Stewart when she went to "prison" for securities fraud. My point is this, and perhaps it was not clear in the original posting, these people commit these crimes yet go to "special" facilities. You don't think you would find Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan with the "common" people in prison do you? Bernard Madoff will go to some nice country club prison ala "Camp Cupcake" just like Martha Stewart did. I believe if you lost your life's savings, and were nearing retirement like many of his victims you wouldn't mind Bernie roasting his bum in the desert.
Youre right Stewart didnt go to San Quentin. I dont know much about women's prisons(except what Ive seen on Cinamax). But the people that got burned by Madoff didnt write the Constitution. Be real. If you commited a crime(not saying you would, lets just pretend a sec), would you want your victims on the jury? And why are you so upset anyway? What he did was capitalism at its best.
The constitution specifies a jury of our peers, of course non biased, so that would rule out victims of Madoff on the jury. What he did was NOT capitalism by any broad definition of the term, what he did pure and simple was a pyramid scheme, frankly that had a lot in common to what happened in a lot of the ex-socialist countries in Europe after the fall of communism, you cannot tell me that those people were practicing capitalism, they were practicing fraud. Read up on the MMM scandal in Russia during the 1990's and the one in Albania at the same time. Same crooks, crooks of a feather flock alike, no matter what their political stripe.
