Sorry, but you are wrong - again. Gun deaths have NOT already surpassed car accident deaths except in 10 states.
It's too lengthy to reprint here, but click the link below to read about the socialist/communist gunman Karl Pierson. http://www.humanevents.com/2013/12/16/the-highly-inconvenient-arapahoe-high-school-shooter/
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that a fellow student described Pierson "as an outspoken proponent of political views that were unpopular with others at the school." Chris Davis, an 18-year-old senior, recalled Mr. Pierson once wore a shirt emblazoned with the letters U.S.S.R. and described himself as a communist. "People definitely disagreed with a lot of that and gave him a hard time," said Mr. Davis, adding that he didn't think the criticism amounted to bullying. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303932504579258820517724030

Denver Post Editor Offers Lame, Insulting Defense For Removing 'Socialist' From Description of Accused Colo. High School Shooter Earlier this morning, Joe Newby at NewsBusters posted on the Denver Post's scrubbing of the word "socialist" from a fellow student's description of Karl Pierson, who police say shot two other students and then took his own life at Arapahoe High School on Friday. The Post story originally said that classmate Thomas Conrad described him as "a very opinionated Socialist." Sometime later, the Post watered the description down to "very opinionated" without telling readers what it had done. Wait until you see the lame, condescending attempt at a defense offered by Post Senior Editor for News Lee Ann Colacioppo in a tweeted response to a reader's challenge on Saturday afternoon: View attachment 2173 Twitchy accumulated reactions to Colacioppo's copout. Here are several of them (slightly edited to correct misspellings and punctuation errors): "... the entire article is 'WHAT HIS CLASSMATES SAID ABOUT HIS POLITICS.' Why take that out?""Without explanation, it seems @denverpost just determines what is approved speech, and edits accordingly.""Does @denverpost think high school seniors can truly label Karl as a 'good political thinker'? That's in the article.""I guarandamntee you that if a student told @LAColacioppo that the shooter was right wing, it would not be stealth edited out of the piece.""I just find the 'teenagers are dumb' edit hollow when the entire article is about what his classmates were saying."The "teenagers are dumb" point is especially pertinent, because many of them are eligible to vote. I guess any day now we should expect an editorial from the Post, or at least an op-ed from Ms. Colacioppo, about how the voting age needs to be raised to 21 to keep these uninformed kids out of the voting booth. Sure. Colacioppo can hardly contend that Conrad's statement was isolated. A video at Real Clear Politics reveals that they were commonly known, and specifically quotes another student: The gunman responsible for Friday's shooting at Arapahoe High School in Colorado is being described as a "socialist" by his fellow students."He was friendly enough. Very proud of being a socialist. He was very outspoken on his political views," student Angie Mock said. "To him, it just meant economic -- more economic equality."So it's not like Pierson's outlook was a secret. The Post's behavior was shameful enough. Colacioppo's defense indicates that her paper would rather insult students, their high school, and Post readers' intelligence rather than have the S-word (and, presumably, communism, as will be seen shortly) appear to be associated with violent and deadly acts. What's the point in subscribing to a publication such as this? Several outlets, including CNN, CBS, and the Wall Street Journal, have also indicated that Pierson's "held communist views," "alienated peers with rants about communism," and "once wore a shirt emblazoned with the letters U.S.S.R. and described himself as a communist." As the evidence mounts that "socialist" was a relatively mild description of Karl Pierson's outlook, will Lee Ann Colacioppo and the Post have the integrity to back down from their obvious censorship? http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-bl...ame-insulting-defense-removing-socialist-desc
Senior Chris Davis, 18, was among many students Saturday trying to make sense of Pierson's shooting rampage. "He was a weird kid," Davis said. "He's a self-proclaimed communist, just wears Soviet shirts all the time." http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/14/us/colorado-school-gunman-karl-pierson/
Hyperbole aside, you called for "assault weapons" to be banned. The .223 isn't an assault weapon so how is what you advocate a solution to anything?
High capacity magazines are also on my list. The fact that you make excuses for these crazy gun nuts and parse weapons says a lot about your sanity...or lack thereof.
What words did I parse? You clearly posted "Ban assault weapons". The .223 is a semi-automatic rifle, not an assault weapon. Are you calling for a ban on all semi-automatics now? I'm really not trying to play "gotcha", I'm simply curious as to which guns you guys want banned. On a side note, I attended a gun show on Saturday. There were apprx 5000 guns in the hall & there wasn't a single person shot so you really can't blame the guns, can you?
It's been revealed that socialist Pierson was an avid reader of the leftist The Anarchist Cookbook. It sounds like he was possibly striving to be a Bill Ayers wannabe or possibly trying to fit the mold of a typical Occupy Wall Street scumbag. ________________________ The student who opened fire last week at a Colorado high school, leaving one girl in a coma before taking his own life, was angry after losing his coveted spot on the debate team and an avid reader of a notorious bomb-making bible, according to a classmate. Joe Redmond, who at one time was a co-captain on the team with the suspected gunman, Karl Pierson, said that Pierson had been reading “The Anarchist Cookbook,” a 1971 book that includes bomb-making instructions. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/201...o-high-school-shooter-read-bomb-making-manual
Media scrub reality to hide Colorado school gunman’s leftist, ‘socialist’ politics December 15, 2013 by Joe Saunders Friday’s shooting at Arapahoe High School in Colorado by Karl Pierson, a deranged, gun-grabbing leftist who hated Republicans and capitalism is giving new meaning to the phrase “all the news that’s fit to print.” If it fits the liberal narrative, it’s fit for print. If it doesn’t, the media considers it its job to obfuscate and omit, lie and play word games until it does. So the news that Pierson was not only a socialist, but a violent socialist, is apparently not fit to print in major newspapers like the Denver Post, Los Angeles Times or The New York Times — at least not without some tweaking. The Denver Post scrubbed the word “socialist” used by a fellow student to describe gunman Karl Pierson out of an early version of a story. In a tweet, Lee Ann Colacioppo, the paper’s senior editor explained that, “We decided not to have another student apply a label to the shooter — a label the student likely didn’t even understand ..” That’s a funny explanation for an editing decision about a story headlined“Arapahoe High gunman held strong political beliefs, classmates said.” Denver Post readers weren’t buying it. Good question, considering the classmate who was originally reported using the description “socialist” for Pierson was said to have taken an economics class with the gunman. It’s a good chance the word “socialist” came up in a senior year high school economics class – even with a unionized public school teacher. Clearly, the classmates understood Pierson’s politics. The DP understood Pierson’s politics. The headline-writer understood them. They just didn’t fit the story libs have been telling for decades now – in the face of a mountain of evidence — that the only political violence that counts comes from the right wing. It’s also funny that a story with a headline about the suicidal gunman’s politics doesn’t get around to actually mentioning what those politics were until the 15thparagraph of a 20-paragraph article. Then it uses Pierson Facebook postings that included, “you republicans are so cute” and an image that reads: “The Republican Party: Health Care: Let ‘em Die, Climate Change: Let ‘em Die, Gun Violence: Let ‘em Die, Women’s Rights: Let ‘em Die, More War: Let ‘em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?” It’s safe to say Pierson really didn’t like Republicans and believes in climate change, gun control and abortion rights. Who does that sound like? At least the DP couldn’t deny reality completely, unlike its colleagues in Los Angeles or New York. The L.A. Times had access to the same Facebook material, but left out the real wacko-left stuff and opted instead to quote a near-incomprehensible economic-theory question: “I was wondering to all the neoclassicals and neoliberals, why isn’t the market correcting itself? If the invisible hand is so strong, shouldn’t it be able to overpower regulations?” The New York Times virtually ignored the story completely, satisfying itself with an eight-paragraph Associate Press dispatch that contained not a word about politics. Would The New York Times even consider passing up coverage of a right-wing shooting in Colorado? In Obama’s America, the media has its marching orders in its DNA now. All the news that fits a blinkered, biased, administration-countenance world view it prints. The rest is for them to know – and you to find out. http://www.bizpacreview.com/2013/12...hool-gunmans-leftist-socialist-politics-89006
