    Howdy peeps, :)

I ran across an interesting story and at the end of it, it asks this question:

Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news....

    Now that is Gun Control!

What I am wondering, since I have searched CNN & CNBC & others and can't find the story but it is all over the internet, do you believe the major News Organizations are Pro Gun Control? Plus, what is your opinion of the story:

    http://www.parighttobeararms.org/repsfromusstate.html

It's the story towards the bottom of the webpage and just below the John Birch Society Banner and labeled "A Shooting in Butte, Montana"

    Ribbit :)

Of course they are biased LOL they have owners who have political convictions so the news usualy reflects those convictions.

Do you think they should be able to lie, in order to promote their agenda?

Should lie or should be able to lie?
Should lie - absolutely not, but that is a dream world and is not worth discussing.
Should be able to - Well, that depends on you definition of "lie" to borrow a phrase. Lie by omission - it is almost impossible not to. Slanderous lies hopefully will never be permitted. Where do you draw the line in the middle? There is an argument that will never be settled.

If that one wasn't enough, read this report from CNN today, beat around the bush for an entire lengthy column, trying to give excuses why Kerry lost in 04, and then at the VERY END, last line, hints at what could come out about Obama. But, notice how he either isn't willing or allowed to talk about what's on everyone's mind. He did get to hint at it though. Most will look over it and think about the rest of the story though. He reported how he was supposed to.

I take this report as already trying to discount anything that comes out about Obama this next week so people remain steady and unphased in voting for him, no matter 'what' comes into quesiton.

You are totally pathetic Vess! The person speaking, for the most part was Tad Devine, a former campaign adviser to Kerry and not a reporter.

That goes to help prove what this thread was about, peeps read into everything and get what they want, not the real message.

    The OP is total BS!

I found that website, looking for other information about Obama and read the story, told a friend, and once my freind saw the John Birch Society Banner, he said it was BS but I will give the benefit of the doubt to anyone, until I can prove otherwise so that's what I did. I emailed the Sheriff of Butte, Montana:

    Dear Sheriff Walsh,

I have read a story online concerning a young Butte, Montana girl shooting two intruders in a home intrusion and I cannot confirm this through any reputable news source and since it supposedly occurred within your jurisdiction I figured if anyone knows this story is true, it would be you. Here's the story:

    -------START STORY-------

    -------END STORY-------

I would appreciate you pointing out any misstatements within that story.

    Respectfully,
    Toad

    Here is his reply:

There is no validity to any part of this story. It did not occur here or anywhere I know of.

    Thanks,
    Sheriff John Walsh

Afterwards, when trying to find the original website I found the story on, I found this:

    http://www.mtstandard.com/articles/2007/12/13/butte_top/20071213_butte_top.txt

If you will Google "Patricia Harrington" Butte Montana you will find that story plastered all over the internet and now thousands of ignorant souls believe it actually occurred. But what's interesting is there are peeps doing the same thing with Barack Obama and so many pathetic fools believe the rumors and since I have proved peeps don't validate what they hear, because it's what they want to hear, they spread the lies as if they are The Gospel!

Many of you are those pathetic fools! :(

FWIW, when you click on your search link, the top link returned is for Snopes saying that the story is false. You are correct, they are ignorant, but this is not limited to BO.

I agree there! The list is endless when it comes to ignorance but the current rumor is "they" are going to hit BO with something this weekend or Monday, that isn't true, but he won't have time to respond properly and it will be an outright lie.

I wish peeps would investigate the rumors to find out the truth, for instance, that BO wants to take our guns away from us. That is so untrue! He is not Mr. Gun Control and the story that he voted to send someone to jail for protecting his home, is also not true. The legislation in question there, was a State Law allowing homeowners to break the law to protect themselves, when to break the law goes against his morals! That was not the way to handle that situation, so he voted against it. But for those who think Oliver North is a Hero, they would not understand.

Regardless of who did most of the talking in that CNN story which was right on the homepage of their website as of last night, you're trying to tell me that my analysis of it is incorrect? You better read through it again. Your answer to me didn't even discredit what I said originally. That's the funny part. You needed to change the subject of my original point to appear correct. Another classic liberal tactic that sounds good......but doesn't really prove anything.

Here's a good one from the AP:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081102/ap_on_el_pr/election_black_hopes_and_fears

"Obama's potential victory represents a previously unimaginable triumph over centuries of racism. But beneath the hope and pride lies fear: of polling inaccuracy, voting chicanery, or the type of injustice and violence that have historically stymied African-American progress."

They're already setting this up. Should Obama lose, the idea of voting chicanery styming African-American progress is already planted.

Anyway, I thought he was more like 50% white, 40% Arabic? Oh well. No matter. At least he's not white!!!

I saw that earlier today and laughed. :D I never saw the skits during that election so I wasn't aware of the takeoff they did but that was back when I was a little toad so I didn't stay up late watching TV. ;)

They were funny at first but then when they needed to start doing Thursdays too in order to bash McCain longer, it got old and I lost interest. Just another rich S.O.B. pushing his political views by controlling a show in the most liberal city in America. Nothing new.

McCain is managing to do good enough on his own, making himself look stupid. SNL makes him look smart. ;)

I've never seen the CNN analysts so giddy before. Of course, it is totally unbiased giddiness. lol

"You know what?" MSNBC's Chris Matthews said last week. "I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work." Asked by morning host Joe Scarborough whether that was his job, Matthews said: "Yeah, that's my job, because this country needs a successful presidency more than anything right now."
Funny -- it's hard to recall many journalists saying they wanted to make Ronald Reagan's or George W. Bush's presidency work. - Washington Post

Sickening. Some people actually look to the guy for news.

Is speech still protected in the constitution?

    Do you ever think?

A news organization and the people working there are being PAID (not free) to provide the service of presenting information to people. When people in charge of a media outlet start hiring and pushing political agendas on people to get their message out, this is no longer free speech. This is state run media, which now becomes worthless for providing real news that people in essence pay for.
