The release of internal documents prove BO knew we were victims of an Al Qaeda terrorist attack in Libya on 9/11 within 2 hours of it happening. He knew!

State Department emails from day of Libya attack show Al Qaeda-tied group on radar​

A series of internal State Department emails obtained by Fox News shows that officials reported within hours of last month's deadly consulate attack in Libya that Al Qaeda-tied group Ansar al-Sharia had claimed responsibility.

The emails provide some of the most detailed information yet about what officials knew in the initial hours after the attack. And it again raises questions about why U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice, apparently based on intelligence assessments, would claim five days after the attack that it was a "spontaneous" reaction to protests over an anti-Islam film.

Ansar al-Sharia has been declared by the State Department to be an Al Qaeda-affiliated group. A member of the group suspected of participating in the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi has been arrested and is being held in Tunisia.

The emails obtained by Fox News were sent by the State Department to a variety of national security platforms, whose addresses have been redacted, including the White House Situation Room, the Pentagon, the FBI and the Director of National Intelligence.

Fox News was told that an estimated 300 to 400 national security figures received these emails in real time almost as the raid was playing out and concluding. People who received these emails work directly under the nation’s top national security, military and diplomatic officials, Fox News was told.
The timestamps on the emails are all Eastern Time and often include the subheading SBU, which is shorthand for “Sensitive But Unclassified.”

The third email came at 6:07 p.m. ET and was sent to a different email list but still includes the White House Situation Room address and a subject line of “Update 2: Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack (SBU).”

“Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli," the email reads.

Earlier emails did not go into who might have been responsible for the attack.

The first email indicates that U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and other personnel were “in the compound safe haven.” Officials later discovered that Stevens and three other Americans had died in the attack.
The first email was sent at 4:05 p.m. ET with the subject line: “U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack (SBU).”

“The Regional Security Officer reports the diplomatic mission is under attack," the email reads. "Embassy Tripoli reports approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well. Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four COM personnel are in the compound safe haven. The 17th of February militia is providing security support.

"The operations Center will provide updates as available.”

The second email came at 4:54 p.m. ET, with a subject line: “Update 1: U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi (SBU)"

“Embassy Tripoli reports the firing at the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi has stopped and the compound has been cleared. A response team is on site attempting to locate COM personnel.”
The emails on the day of the attack further challenge not only the initial statements made by administration officials like Rice about the strike, but also recent claims that they were only basing those statements on the intelligence they had at the time.

State Department official Patrick Kennedy recently testified to Congress that anyone in Rice's position would have made the same statements about the attack being spontaneous.

But the newly uncovered emails clearly state the involvement of a militant group whose agenda is to establish an Islamic state in eastern Libya.

Despite this, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney backed up Rice on Sept. 18. He said: "Based on information that we -- our initial information ... we saw no evidence to back up claims by others that this was a preplanned or premeditated attack; that we saw evidence that it was sparked by the reaction to this video." Carney went on to say "that is what we know" based on "concrete evidence, not supposition."

This is really serious stuff. At this point, unless you are a fool, you shouldn’t just be disappointed with Obama ... you should be completely disgusted with Obama. He is a vile, disgusting man. We know that now.
The ObamaMedia has quite a job today and over the next two weeks. Those people dedicated to the cause of re-electing Barack Obama will have to do their best to keep the latest news quiet about the true nature of the death of our ambassador and three other Americans. If the ObamaMedia runs with the story, they will have to put it on page 16, tucked in the left-hand corner. This way, they can say that they did indeed report it but hope that lazy readers won’t flip and scrutinize to find it hiding amongst the shadows of other stories the paper has deemed more worthy.
The latest revelations are simply this: Obama’s cover story of the Benghazi attack is completely falling apart. Obama has been exposed. Jay Carney has been exposed as someone who will tell us lies in order to protect Barack Obama. Susan Rice has been exposed, openly and overtly lying to protect Obama.
The emails are now in the hands of the media. These are the emails that the Senate Intelligence Committee has been requesting for weeks and the State Department wouldn’t turn them over.
Well, the emails are out. There are emails from our diplomats in Libya to the State Department, the FBI and EOP – more specifically, the Situation Room in the White House. Those emails plainly say the consulate in Benghazi is under armed attack:
4:05 p.m. Washington time - "U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack" and the notation "SBU" (Sensitive But Unclassified)
The text said the State Department's regional security office had reported that the diplomatic mission in Benghazi was "under attack. Embassy in Tripoli reports approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well." The message continued: "Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four ... personnel are in the compound safe haven. The 17th of February militia is providing security support."
4:54 p.m. "Update 1: U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi"
The Embassy in Tripoli had reported that "the firing at the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi had stopped and the compound had been cleared." It said a "response team" was at the site attempting to locate missing personnel.
6:07 p.m. "Update 2: Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack."
The message reported: "Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli."
So by the time Barack Obama sat down for dinner that night, he knew that Ansar al-Sharia had claimed responsibility for the attack. He knew!
And about that first email … who is the 17th of February militia? Their real name is the 17th of February Martyrs Brigade. Obama likes to talk about outsourcing … the 17th of February Martyrs Brigade are the people whom Obama outsourced for security for our consulate in Benghazi. And who are they? They are an offshoot of Ansar al-Sharia ... the group that was conducting the attack on the consulate!
Are you following this? Obama outsources security to our consulate to the 17th of February Martyrs Brigade, an offshoot of Ansar al-Sharia. And then we know that in the interim Chris Stevens asked for more security and Obama’s State Department says, “You don’t need it. You are fine!” And then the parent group launches an attack, brags about it on Facebook and Twitter, and then by the time Obama had finished dinner, he knew who launched this attack.
What he didn’t know by dinner is where our ambassador and personnel were. So he goes to bed.
When Obama wakes up, our ambassador is dead. And three more Americans are dead. So Obama has to make a statement. He makes a statement and slams mitt Romney and blames it on a video, and then flies to Las Vegas for a campaign fundraiser. Then he sends out his UN ambassador the next Sunday to the TV talk shows, “It’s all because of this video.” He sends Jay Carney out to say it was this video. Obama himself goes to the UN, knowing it was a planned attack by Ansar al-Sharia and says it was the video six times in that speech!
Bottom line: He knew, he lied and he covered up.
Obama lied because he was in a re-election fight and he had been running around the country boasting, “I killed bin Laden and I decimated al Qaeda. Osama is dead, GM is alive!” But the truth is that al Qaeda is not dead and al Qaeda in Libya is not dead. But our ambassador is dead … and three more Americans are dead.
All of Obama’s bravado and strutting looks pretty empty. How are we going to make this not our fault for failing to provide adequate security, for outsourcing security to the 17th of February Martyrs Brigade? How are we going to make this now our fault? We’ll blame it on this video. It’s all this guy in California … we are going to get him and we’re going to put him in jail and make him the scapegoat. He’ll do a perp walk. We’ll march him up and down the street in handcuffs … “Here he is! Here’s the responsible guy! And don’t you dare have a hearing until after the election. His hearing is scheduled for three days after the election.
And you already voted for him ... or you are going to? How incredibly stupid do you feel?

 

BTW, he did the same thing on the day of the shooting at Fort Hood. Think about that ............................

A militant group claimed responsibility for the attacks immediately which of course happens in every one of these types of situations but it certainly doesn't constitute proof that they had anything to do with the attack by any stretch of the imagination unless you are willing to take the word of Islamic militants which apparently you Un-American losers have no problem doing against the word of your own president.

John Bolton believes the ideology explanation is the most powerful because it also explains why they refused repeated requests for security enhancements for the embassy in Tripoli and the consulate in Benghazi before September the 11th.
They just didn't want to acknowledge that Al-Qaeda was resurgent in Libya because it undercut the story line that the War on Terror is over, Al-Qaeda's on the run, the Arab Spring has been a success. That led to the denials of the requests for security enhancement, that led to the tragedy in Benghazi, and that then led to this ridiculous story that it was caused by some YouTube video.
These e-mails say that if anybody at the White House thought they could cover this story up by referring to the Mohammed video, with this documentary evidence in real time, then it wasn't just a cover-up. It was an incredibly stupid cover-up. This may be further proof of the ideology explanation, that there's this screen over consciousness that prevents them from seeing reality when it's put right in front of 'em. They picked a line that was politically convenient for them regardless of the evidence, in the teeth of the evidence. The fact they pursued it up to and including the president speaking to the world at the United Nations General Assembly, when there was just precious little to go on, really speaks of willful blindness.

The adminstration could have authorized to take action to save the lives of Americans. Remember: Four dead in a seven-hour attack, two of them died in the final hours. This government made not one move, with full knowledge of what was going on, to protect those Americans. We had hundreds of people watching in real time, as 30 Americans were being attacked for seven hours. But we have a commander in chief that’s more worried about getting to Las Vegas and to party it up with Letterman than worry about American lives.

Sharyl Attkisson from CBS reported the other day that "The Pentagon says it did move a team of special operators from central Europe to the large Naval Air Station in Sigonella, Italy, but gave no other details. Sigonella is just an hour's flight from Libya. Other nearby bases include Aviano and Souda Bay. Military sources tell CBS News that resources at the three bases include fighter jets and Specter AC-130 gunships."Those are excellent for crowd dispersal. They are effective in flying and buzzing a crowd to disperse it. Fox just had a graphic up of all the nearby assets that could have been used.
Attkisson said, "Sending the military into another country can be a sensitive and delicate decision. CBS News has been told Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did seek clearances from Libya to fly in their airspace, but the administration won't say anything further about what was said or decided on that front." So we don't know if Libya granted permission or denied permission. And if Libya didn't grant permission, we just sit there and let this happen?
Then after all this has happened, to conduct a cover-up and lie about this for seven or eight days and claim that it was a video that incited a crowd that got out of control. We know that nothing of the sort happened. And it wasn't just Obama who made that statement, (six times alone at the UN). He sent Susan Rice out on five Sunday morning TV shows. Jay Carney the White House press secretary was making the same claim that it was a video that was responsible for this.
They knew within two hours what was going on and who was behind it. A terror group, Ansar al-Sharia, claiming credit for it.
It's the anniversary of 9/11. There was real-time video of this thing taking place. But hey the president was pretty busy on that day. He had to hurry to a fundraiser in Las Vegas then doubled back for Letterman and another fundraiser with Jay-z knowing full well that it was not a video, but was a terror attack.


National Journal reported that a senior State Department official announced, “The war on terror is over.”
“Now that we have killed most of al Qaida,” the source said, “now that people have come to see legitimate means of expression, people who once might have gone into al Qaida see an opportunity for a legitimate Islamism.”

Lawmakers press administration for Libya answers after email release​

Leading congressional lawmakers applied new pressure to the Obama administration Thursday for information on the Libya terror attack, after emails published this week showed top officials being told within hours that a local militant group had claimed responsibility.

Republicans are using the alert on Sept. 11, contained in State Department emails, to challenge initial claims by administration officials that attackers were reacting to protests over an anti-Islam film.
House Speaker John Boehner, in a lengthy letter sent to President Obama on Thursday, called on the president to "explain to the American people" what happened.

"The American public is increasingly reading information contradicting early accounts by your administration of the causes of the events of the day," Boehner said. "In the absence of your direct engagement to clarify these concerns, the public's frustration and confusion is likely to discredit efforts to achieve our shared goals of justice and accountability for the direct assault on American interests and the deaths of four public servants."

He called the latest information "deeply troubling" to lawmakers who attended a briefing after the attack, "as there are perceived inconsistencies between what they learned during the briefing and the now widely available documentation regarding what was known at the time of the attack."

Boehner's letter came as the Senate intelligence committee announced it would hold a closed oversight hearing on Nov. 15, "with additional hearings to follow."

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House oversight committee, and Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, also wrote a letter to Obama on Thursday asking about the newly disclosed emails.

"The committee is concerned that this important report in an inter-agency dialogue appears to have been discarded in favor of different conclusions that have since been found to be false," they wrote. "We request your assistance in understanding why this report was disregarded for weeks in favor of flawed conclusions about a spontaneous protest."

The emails show top officials were alerted to militant group Ansar al-Sharia in Benghazi claiming responsibility on Facebook and Twitter shortly after the strike began. The group has since denied carrying out the attack - though it is still suspected of being behind strike.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton downplayed those emails on Wednesday.

"Posting something on Facebook is not in and of itself evidence," Clinton said. "And I think it just underscores how fluid the reporting was at the time and continued for some time to be."

Though the emails are just one piece of the puzzle, they reveal some of the most detailed information yet about what officials were saying to each other in the initial hours after the attack. And they again raise questions about why U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice, apparently based on intelligence assessments, would claim five days after the attack that it was a "spontaneous" reaction to protests over an anti-Islam film.

Over at the Weekly Standard, Daniel Halper has posted highlights of Lars Larson’s interview with the father of Tyrone Woods, one of the four Americans murdered in the 9/11 attack in Benghazi. Halper introduces his summary as follows:
“When [Obama] came over to our little area” at Andrew Air Force Base, says Woods, “he kind of just mumbled, you know, ‘I’m sorry.’ His face was looking at me, but his eyes were looking over my shoulder like he could not look me in the eye. And it was not a sincere, ‘I’m really sorry, you know, that you’re son died,’ but it was totally insincere, more of whining type, ‘I’m sorry.’”
Woods says that shaking President Obama’s hands at his son’s memorial service was “like shaking hands with a dead fish.”
“It just didn’t feel right,” he says of his encounter with the commander in chief. “And now that it’s coming out that apparently the White House situation room was watching our people die in real time, as this was happening,” Woods says, he wants answers on what happened—and why there was no apparent effort to save his son’s life.

Nothing about prosecuting the terrorist but will get that evil film maker and throw him in jail.

There were many security cameras at the Benghazi US Consulate. One camera was positioned to (and did) record Ambassador Stevens, on September 11, saying good night at 8:40pm Libya time to a Turkish Diplomat.
The video from this camera shows there was NO PROTEST outside our Consulate. The Obama Administration had that tape immediately and they knew what it showed and knew it immediately. Anyone who watched the video observed the obvious.
Don’t you think the Obama Administration should release that video so that the American people can see for themselves what REALLY happened and not what the Obama Administration tried to feed them in the weeks after the terrorist attack? They won’t release the tape – in fact, they are hiding the video tape from you by classifying it so that it remains out of our reach. Frankly, that is the oldest trick in the book – classify it. They don’t want you to see the tape and they don’t want you to know what THEY KNEW RIGHT AWAY.

 

You're absolutely correct. The tape has been classified "Top Secret" by the Obama administration. If this incident was, in fact, just a protest like the Obama administration claimed (sort of like a bunch of unruly Occupy Wall Street types) why on earth would they not want us to see it? It's because Obama knew it wasn't just a protest and wanted to reinforce the belief that everything was calm in the Middle East (especially in Libya) after the so-called "Arab Spring". If everything remained calm, he could claim that his foreign policy helped foster peace in the region (at least until after the presidential election). Well, his plot crumbled like a house of cards. His lack of expertise in foreign policy has been bluntly revealed by the death of the ambassador and his aides. Further complicating the matter for Obama is that it appears now that the American people were lied to by the administration and a cover-up has been created.

It's like I heard someone say the other day, "This scandal is as big as Watergate, but at least no one died in Watergate".
