During the campaign, I brought up some things that scared me about Obama..his Socialist ideology, his redistribution of wealth/hand out promises, etc. Each time it was brought up, Clembo, you denied Obama believed the crap & that I was just paranoid. Are you still going to deny it? The guy is a stark raving Marxist bent on taking our nanny state one further into a 100% government controlled state. Think about it...he is taking over banks (but denied it up until this past week...insurance companies, utilities, auto manufacturers...you name it. He is getting business & the population addicted to governmental control. Security? Where do we start? What's he going to do with the Gitmo detainees? He thinks he can work out defense agreements with Putin? Puh-leeez. Please stay focused here, Clem. We aren't talking about the Wright's & Ayers anymore- The libs have said that is okay. We are talking about our AMerican way of life. Do you think this country was founded on a system remotely similar to what Obama is setting up? And while I'm at it, Obama only rec'd 52% of the vote...hardly a mandate. Did he win? Sure he did, but when he argues "mandate" and you repeat it, it just cuts right through me.

Were there HUGE corporations with global impact using (often fraudulent/illegal) business practices to gain even more power and wealth? Were there lobbyists protecting their slimey hineys? Conversely would the average citizen help a neighbor in need or just attempt to screw them for their own gains? Was there any sense of morality or decency? People did help one another back then David. Part of what DID make this country great. We pulled together. Now granted, there are more than enough that work the system. Actually, in past discussions with you I believe we have both seen it. Yes, it's a reality but it's gone beyond that reality now and if you fail to recognize that you are one sorry example of a human being. This is not a socialist/marxist issue. It's about the well being and back bone of our country. The "fixes" we've had have not worked. Gotta try a different angle whether or not you agree. If you have a better idea email OUR PRESIDENT. David I have to say that if Bank bailouts and insurance companies, utilities, auto manufacturers bailouts are a sign of a imminent Marxist takeover then it is a world wide takeover. These actions are not confined to the US alone but are taking place globaly, so I have to ask the question is Obama in your view now going to become the Marxist leader of a unifed world goverment?

Funny you should mention that. I remember when I was in high school about 30 years ago that the "qualifications" to enter the military seemed a bit more lax. In other words many that were headed for a life in jail or borderline mentally retarded (from my class at least) gravitated toward the military. It was amazing the positive affect serving actually did help most of these people. They came back much more focused. Some, however, came back the same. That would be borderline mentally retarded. Now I respect anyone that has served the country. Does NOT mean I have to like them though. Jwevansv falls into the last category. I'm starting to wonder if I know him or at least a relative of his.
Clembo: I have lurked around here on and off. I've also noticed how quiet it has been and there hasn't been much to reply to. I've spent most of my time at another, more populated politics forum that I've gotten to know well over the years. I haven't had much to say because there isn't much left to say. Just waiting for the next shoe to drop. What's next? DOW 4,000? Terrorist attack? War with Iran? I don't have any praise for this administration or any confidence in their ability. The droves of tax dodgers turned me off even further. Rham Emanuel looks like a Meer cat and even that's been pissing me off lately. He just seems like a slimeball, rat, bully, of a politician. Sorry Vess but it cant go both ways, His health care is also part of his election promises yet some people are vocal about that one but of course they can portray him in a bad light then LOL but when he does something that needed doing a long time back then they are strangly quiet!!
