Right again, with no argument. I believe that in 2000 the number of Christians in Iran stood at less than 2% of the population. The Jewish people were even less with only about 1.5% living there now.

Dead wrong, it happens everyday, and both Christians and Jews are blamed for everything bad that happens in Iran that their government can't explain.

That makes your statement about 66% accurate. Rather good coming from that side of the discussion. Congratulations cyco!

 

I have to agree with Dan - Christians and Jews DO live in places like Iran, but as a SUBSTANTIAL minority, and they are persecuted against every day.

There are a lot of things in this old world that you haven’t seen ajm, and I can only relate what I have seen and lived to tell about. Turkish Muslim solders in WWII who were offered, and accepted “spam” at a meal. They later found out that “spam” was actually a form of “ham” (pig) and they came looking for our cooks. It ended with all of the Turks being shot or wounded and taken back to their devisions. I personally have already killed my share of Muslims and would not hesitate to do it again if the need arises. Have you ever seen captured Italian solders being sent running between the two lines of Turkish Muslims. Somewhere along the way some one of them swings a knife and beheads the runner. They have placed bets on how many steps they will take with out a head. Real nice people and not to be trusted in any thing of honor that I know of.

I wish you a life time of sun shine and nobel thoughts, and may nothing ever change to fracture your dreams of humanity.

It relieves me to hear you say this ejm, as I have found it rather difficult to believe the other major parties on “that” side of the discussion have done everything in their power to not even come close to uttering such a statement.

I don’t believe any one said it would be easy. But, any job worth doing is worth doing well!

 

You seem to have swayed from your veteran bashing anti-U.S. war against terrorism policies from past debates. I like and agree with your current views on this subject.

DHIMMI: A BRIEF OVERVIEW
7th-21st century. The notion of Dhimmitude, originating in the 7th century, still applies today to non-Muslims under Islamic rule—whether Jews or Christians, whether in Saudi Arabia or in Sudan. Dhimmitude began in 628 CE when Mohammed and his forces conquered the Jewish oasis at Khaybar. They massacred many of the Jews and forced the rest to accept a pact ("Dhimma") which rendered them inferiror to their Muslim conquerors. Over the centuries, the ideology of Dhimmitude expanded into a formal system of religious apartheid.

Institutionalized apartheid. In Shari’a law, there are official discriminations against the Dhimmi, such as the poll-tax or jizya.

No legal rights. Jews may not testify in court against a Muslim and have no legal right to dispute or challenge anything done to them by Muslims. There is no such thing as a Muslim raping a Jewish woman; there is no such thing as a Muslim murdering a Jew (at most, it can be manslaughter). In contrast, a Jew who strikes a Muslim is killed.

Humiliation and vulnerability. Jews and Christians had to walk around with badges or veils identifying them as Jews or Christians. The yellow star that Jews had wear in Nazi Germany did not originate in Europe. It was borrowed from the Muslim world where it was part of the apartheid system of Dhimmitude.

Conditional protection. The protection of the Dhimmi is withdrawn if the Dhimmi rebels against Islamic law, gives allegiance to non-Muslim power (such as Israel), refuses to pay the poll-tax, entices a Muslim from his faith, or harms a Muslim or his property. If the protection is lifted, jihad resumes. For example, Islamists in Egypt who pillage and kill the Copts do so because they no longer pay their poll-tax and therefore are no longer protected.

The Christian population in Bethleham has also went from being 60% majority in 1990 to being a 20% minority in 2001 and I haven't had the time to look up the latest numbers but they are fleeing the town where Jesus was born out of fear and from being attacked. I don't think I was ever fully "anti-war." My view has always been from day one that war against those who are innocent is wrong, but I have agreed with Dan, Midas, and Andy and made my points clear(er) (I hope) that I am not against the War on Terrorism. Clerics really do have to denounce terrorists in their own faith or countries affected by terrorist networks are going to have to come looking for them.

The problem with this whole region, not just Bethlehem, is that the holy places of Islam AND the holy places of Christianity are all intermixed on the land. To try to separate them with boundaries would be like trying to put the different personalities of a person with Dissociative Identity Disorder into different bodies: IMPOSSIBLE.

This applies only under Sharia law, which is the minority in Muslim nations, and looked down upon by all but the least developed areas. Christians still live in Iran, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq. Jews still live in these places as well. The Israeli conflict has stirred up tensions recently, I agree, but it's not to the scale you're pretending it to be. The media has you by the balls. You look at the way blacks were treated in the states, Jews were treated by the Nazis, etc., etc., and I could make the same case about caucasians.

That's the whole issue with these discussions. I can dig up dirt on every ethnic, racial, or religious group on the planet. In the other thread, you bring up 3 possible examples of treason by Muslims who served in our military ranks. How many total Muslim soldiers are there? Why just point out the bad seeds? Why not bring up all the white folks who committed crimes or treason (you say DC sniper, I say Charles Whitman)? Why don't you create threads about blacks and crime (the DC sniper was black, so hey - maybe that's the reason! )? You're essentially doing the same thing by singling out a group of people & pointing out all their shortcomings and nothing else.

Now why don't you go sit down with your family, have a nice family dinner & prayer session, and talk about how genocide is your friend, and the towel-headed camel-jockeys should be exterminated.

He's singling out people based on ideology, not on race. So you comparing him to a KKK member is null, and furthermore offensive. KKK members have a hateful ideology, must like those who practice shariah law, and follow Islam. You apparently hate the hateful ideology of the KKK, but are all tolerant towards another hateful ideology.

Intolerance towards those of other races and intolerance of those of other religions are one and the same. This entire thread is offensive. Those who practice Islam do not practice a hateful ideology. Extremists do, yes, but not Islam itself. I am not tolerant of extremist Islam, so your point is null and void. I am also not tolerant of the bigotry you, and others like you, express. You are extremists, and are no better than extremist Muslims. Your obvious intolerance and ignorance of other religions proves that my statement is not null. The propoganda spread about on this board isn't even worth reading - it's all just a rehash of the same rediculous crap.

 

I can't disagree with this.

I don't know how 'General Discussion' turned into 9 out of 10 threads, or worse, becoming psuedo-debates about the same topic.

At this point, I think everyone pretty much knows what everyone else (that posts in these threads) thinks about the muslim faith in general. All I can really say is that there are a few members on this board that have witnessed or been subjected to things that some of the rest of us have been lucky enough to not have to ever see... That entitles them to whatever opinion they develop.

Now lets pick something else to get worked up and bothered over.
