I rarely cheer for Liberals. But today Marc Carney (really a Conservative) was in Kviv for Ukrainian Independence Day. He told reporters that Canada would contribute 2+ B in arms/ also that once a "ceasefire" is declared, that he will send Canadian soldiers to Ukraine. One reporter then stated that Russia would not allow NATO troops in Ukraine. Carney then turned to Her, Russia has NO say in a sovereign nations politics, and that Lavrov and Putin are war criminals, need I say more. Merz stated the same. So Bravo for common sense and justice. Russia is a rogue State, run by a Mafia syndicate. So Sergei (Lavrov) the EU/ Canada do not give a flying fox fart for your lies and genocidal War vs a smaller neighbour. You tried it on Finland in 1939.....it did not end well.
I fear that if NATO did move troops to Ukraine that Putin would (conveniently) regard that as a threat allowing him the excuse to strike NATO. And I am afraid we all know where that would lead.
Putin has to be stopped in Ukraine/ if Ukraine falls the scenario would be worse. Putin would force (conscript all Ukrainian men/ women into Russia armed forces) Then in his wacko mind, he would feel that Russia could invade Baltic States, then we have Russia vs NATO. Germany could defeat Russia easily, so could Poland. The Russians are out of $$$/ war materiel/ even running low on cannon fodder. If Europe keeps sanctions in place, plus Ukraine keeps hitting Putins oil/ gas refineries/ railway logistics/ armaments targets....its all good. Estimates have 2 M Russians KIA/ MIA/ banged up. Ukrainians are killing 8 Russians for one of theirs. The new Flamingo 3K km range missile developed with help of Germans, is a game changer. Biden should have done that from day one.
