I can hear Trump speaking to the American Farmers. Apparently tractors have been so regulated in recent years that it took an MIT engineer to run a farm tractor. Today that nonsense is repealed. I know that last year my wife had to buy a new car, and like all new cars it shuts off at a traffic light. I am happy to say that idiotic waste of time and money is also repealed and now new cars won't have to shut off at traffic lights...... But the one thing that I see daily is in my email. Because I run a small business I get all the E-Verify emails and for the last six weeks I receive daily in my email another nation that has been removed from "Temporary Protected Status"... Haiti, Burma, Somalia, Syria, Ethiopia... I receive a new one almost every day. I stand as an American that is tired of the worlds riff-raff being ushered in to lower our great nation into the cesspool that they came from. Take that democrats and choke on your politically correct nonsense.
Could not say it any better! Reason the US car makers lost out to my guys (Germans) and Japanese cars is simple. Back in the 1950, 1960s US automobiles were stuff of legends. Any kid would be fascinated and be ale to tell Mom or Dad the car brand, make. Stuff like Studebaker Hawks, 55-57 T-Birds, 426 GTX, 440 six pak Challengers, L-88 67 vettes, Shelby KR-500s, on and on. Brute Horse Power, awesome, sexy designs. Today we have proliterian crappola right out of the USSR. Bland, unappealing and not very sexy. But, I am a guy who is not politically correct, so I drive a 600 HP 58 corvette, and been known to clock over 160mph. Well, I am German, its legal there, since people still have freedoms.
Another pet peeve, today here in Canada, in some provinces, there are restrictions on use of pesticides and herbicides. Seems a beautifull manicured lawn is now taboo. So most are infested with weeds, get destroyed by cinchbugs, grubs. People cannot afford to resod lawn every year, so many homeowners replace the natural turf wirg artifical grass. Monkeys running the zoo. A beautifull natural lawn, looks great, absorbs CO2 (Plantfood) and gives us O2 to breath, Also a natural landscape cools the temps, smells nice when cut. I know, since I do lawns. Of course humans are not stupid, and drive down to US and bring home the products that work, or buy on black market I do not "obey" these insane rules.
I always enjoyed a nice lush green lawn, until about 2015 when things steadily went on the decline. Now I constantly wrestle with bare spots and invasive weeds. It's added a stress to my life that has me cussing every time I mow my lawn! The only change I made around that time? I switched from a slower, 15 year old, but very reliable bagging lawn tractor to a faster zero turn without a bagger. I was advised by the salesman that it was better to mulch the grass and leave it on the lawn, so I wouldn't need a bagger. When I later thought I'd made the connection between mulching in place and the decline, I tried to find a bagger and discovered at that point that a bagger was never available for that zero turn mower. That business has since gone under . . . and I feel left holding the bag.
I do my lawn, but also 130 other clients. Lawns are mostly average size, 200X 300 ft. I have some 1/2 acre-1 acre, I cut them ALL with a pushmower/ reason I walk 300 kms a wk! I use PAR-III to kill broadleaf weeds, DRIVE XLR for post emergent crabgrass/ DIAZINON to kill cinchbugs/ grubs. Problem is the insects kill the grass, then invasive weeds takeover, also crabgrass late Summer. Main thing is to cut lawn at 3" Summer, 2" Spring/ Fall. Also water at nite, in Summer. But, I also maintain the flowerbeds, shrubs, hedges, leaves, its keeps you hopping! But, I cool down with cold Coronas, and think about nice stuff like coins
I don't get cinchbugs, but we've had grubs and I control those well with milky spore. I think I let the thatch get too thick from mulching before I realized what had happened. That thatch layer causes excess moisture retention at the surface, promotes disease in the grasses, and is a breeding ground for some types of weeds. I think I'm going to have to solarize my entire lawn and replant! As for cooling down, I like a cool Boneshaker Brown when I'm grilling up chicken, steak and veggie shishkabobs. By the way, using that Diazinon is doing you no favors . . . it'll quickly offset the good things you're doing for your body.
I try to use it only when we have light showers, since it needs to be watered in to work. That way you do not breath it in. I had a "picky" client who was adamant that I nuke his hedges with CYGON 2E. IT was windy like hell, so I told Him the stuff would blow back onto my body, face. He still persisted, I just said NO.Better loose a client then harm your health, crazy people exist out there. We had that horrible smoke from forest fires few years back. They had smoke at level 10+ (DANGER) and I worked 100+ hrs a week in that, still people complain if you don't get their place done. One lady, has COPD, came out to tell something, she came out, the smoking air, ended that. I pretty well worked that whole Summer in air that was totally polluted. Had a runny nose all Summer. That Summer, cold beer were even tastier, soothed the throat. My problem is, I still have that "teenage invincibility complex", since I never been sick anytime in my life.
