It was a funny article. You know it was.

I'm going to let the "poke the bear" comment go for now, as I can't figure
out a way to phrase any of the kabillion jabs I've thought of without
completely making you hit the ceiling or trying to attack me with one of
    your mythical sticks.

Last week I was at the Second World War memorial in Washington DC and
was this guy there who said he was collecting for food for homeless
veterans. I was suspicious of him because I couldn't see an official
charity badge. Anyway I didn't want to call him a liar so my girlfriend
gave him $2. He gave us a paper he said was an official Armed Forces
    charity paper.

When we looked at it we realized what he had actually given us was a
copy of The Onion with the very story you mentioned above on its pages.

Well ... a conman got the better of me and took me for $2. There is a
    story to dine out on.

How you feel knowing you paid $2 for the same story when you could have
gotten it here and the rest of the site for free?

Hey ... I paid $2 for the privilege of being ripped off by a genuine
    con-man.

How many people can say that with any kind of pride ?

Point taken about the "saying it with pride" thing. In which case, I should
say, "Congratulations! You got fuckored by a pro! Well done, old bean!"

That's another average, boring thing that school kids would be bitching

I think the point I was really trying to make was he only took us for
    $2.

Hardly worth his time and effort.
