Guardian is taking a class from Chomsky's nephew or something like that so I thought he might like this vintage stuff.
I've got to say in all honesty each one of you recent posts offers content similar to the GEICO commercial featuring the (mini me) rapping midget. They're like a circus side-show. One simply must peak and after doing so realizes just how dreadful a mistake it was in retrospect.
Sorry about that Mr. Digger, but if I had said that Noam was my uncle, then that would have been to impress someone, but 'no' we aren''t any relation. By accident found out that our Prof was related, and when ask he said his mother and Noam Chomsky's wife Carol Schatz were sisters. That is as far as the discussion went, so that is all I know about it. Oh yes another time he said that he and Harvy Chomsky were cousins, so I guess that Harvy must me Noam's son. Thank you Danr for the post and the information, even thought it is now some 35 years old. I guess you know that get togather between Noam and Michel Faucault was in Holland, I believe somewhere around 1971. This is what our Prof said it would have been. You should also know that Mr. Faucault didn't really think much of Noam and described him as 'emoral' after one of their meetings. I seen the record of this get togather and belive me they were not friends, by any stretch of the immagination. O'well, guess a persong shouldn't talk bad about the dead. Have you read any of Faucault's works, such as 'queer theory'. The guy seemed to have a problem, and payed with his life for his pleasures. Again thanks for the post. :thumb:
