I was banned because of a running gun battle with "Baby Chevy", but was never given the reason and do not know if the ban is permanent or temporary, however, I have learned that you shouldn't question a Moderator because they have the power to silence you should they not appreciate a reply to their post.

Ford is stepping up to provide electric vehicles because of what demand, the general public or the Government's push? I see no rally's or demonstrations demanding electric vehicles. "What we have is a failure to communicate." It's all about the "Benjamins", pure and simple.

How often do you see rallies demanding a new type of vehicle or product? a more cerebral response would be appreciated.

I thought my post was self-explanatory. Is there an echo?

You don't understand how the automotive industry works. They are designing vehicles ten years into the future.

Right. They have only been doing that for the last hundred years, so I do not understand?

No, like GM and all other major auto manufacturers, they are not all-in on EV products, but they must have a toe in the water so that, if the market turns, they are not left in the dust.

Ford's strategy is very sound though. They are implementing EV technology first in those products where fuel efficiency standards are the most challenging to them, and playing wait and see with those products where the fuel efficiency requirements are already most profitably met.

they need to be able to switch over as technology progresses or they will be left behind

Sorry to rehash this old thread but thought I would offer this up to anyone with an electric Ford in their future plans…. They are slick and the acceleration is unlike anything you have ever experienced in a gas powered vehicle. What they are finding that the battery tray is lasting 3-4 years and has a very limited warranty written around it. The problem with this is that a replacement battery tray is $25,000.00. Be aware.

Did you purchase one, or test drive? Beware, California is mandatory all EVs by 2035 then told everyone not to plug their current one in.

Test drove. I was to the point that I had to get a new truck. I had postponed it as long as I could. I have a very good friend that heads up the service department at my area dealership and I had been leaning heavily on him while I made a buying decision. He gave me the scoop on the battery trays.

Before you purchase one planing to drive to OK from your house, look at all the horror stories of those traveling long distances in EV’s. They may be fine in your small part of the nation, they are not ready for prime time. From what I’m seeing, don’t go off road or near salt.

Yeah…. I keep a vehicle 7-8 years. Once they get up close to 150k miles, I lose confidence in their reliability….. So I went gas again. It’s a turbocharged v6 so it’s decent gas mileage and shockingly quick acceleration. I had tried to hold out as long as I could but I’m just not getting good reliability reports on the EV’s. And frankly I would be pretty pissed if I had to drop 25k for a new battery tray in 2-3 years…. I’m going to have to give this technology some more time to develop.

Yeah, NEVER buy the latest model. Let someone else tell you how many problems that they have had.

Yeah, the learning curve on new technologies like this is extremely long. The All-In mentality of the Greenies is sheer stupidity.

Has rivers drying up all over the world taught you nothing? Has glaciers disappearing all over the world taught you nothing? Has wild fires all over the globe not come to your attention? Has record temperatures across the planet gone right over your heads? Has flooding on an apocalyptic scale not caught your attention? What is it going to take for you to realize that we are killing this ecosystem?

Has California saying not to charge your EV not told you anything?
