Why not look up to her. The press was quick to attack her and tens of millions of dollars was spent to destory her by the democratic party of which the establishment of the Republican party was glad to see and you know why.....because she was a common person. An outsider to the corrupt system. A citizen.

Regan was mistake for Ronnie. With that said. He was a great man. Shame he didn't win when he was younger and ran against Ford in the primarys. There would have been no Jimmy Carter and Iran today may still be an ally of us with the middle east being more moderate then radical. But he still did a great job with his only mistake of taking Bush on the ticket. He hated bush but was told he needed him to win Texas and the election. The landslide was not expected at the start. If you read into the history,Ronnie knew nothing about the drugs. He just wanted to arm the contras and prolong the Iraq-Iran war so they would bleed each other out. Bush was behind the Contra-gate and false information was presented. Gee didn't that happen with another Bush as well.

Both parties stink right now and they all should be voted out to give fresh blood a chance.

Don't feel bad for little Sarah Andy. She made 12 million dollars last year. If someone wants to attack me for that kind of money, please have them do so.

Her salary as Governor of Alaska was only $150,000 a year.

After reading the article I thought who could be so gullible to believe this garbage. The writings of some soothsayer a doomsday psychic would be more like it.

“Warming fears are the worst scientific scandal in the history...when people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists."

Those are not my words but an award winning PhD environmental physical chemist.

The sad thing is people have cried wolf so often for their own political and economic gain that little attention has been given to the number one problem on this earth and that is over population which leads to the destruction of natural habitats, etc.

With all of the grief that befell her after taking the nomination as VP from her own party, for being her own person, to the left wing media nonsense to the normal political stuff from the Dems, was it any surprise she basically said , F this and left office early to take the money and have some fun.

    Where are the Climate Refugees?"

"In 2005, the United Nations Environment Programme predicted that climate change would create 50 million climate refugees by 2010. "
The United Nations predicted that these climate refugees would be fleeing from areas that are actually among the fastest growing regions in the world, Florida included. "These people, would flee a range of disasters including sea level rise, increases in the numbers and severity of hurricanes, and disruption to food production. The UNEP even provided a handy map.

Another huge story of the environmentalist wackos being entirely wrong. Imagine they predict 50 million climate refugees, and there are none, and there are no sea level increases.

Oh I see, it wasn't actually all the law suits being file against her. Right.

It is a shame that the legal civil system can be used to lynch someone financially and to create a false record for others to document as facts based upon charges not verdits.

The lying and nasty attacks upon the Palin Family were so horrible that even the great liberal democrat from New York, former congresswomen and United States Vice President Candidate, went on the news outlets to defend Palin and comdemn those attacks during the presidential election and afterwards.

All this is just more reason why someone who is successful in life and lives an honest life would not want to get involved with American Politics today.

If she found a way to go from 150K annually to 12 million dollars annually that quickly without being a basketball player or ending up in jail, even I can look up to that...and I hate all you rich people. ;)

Funny I remember reading the same thing about the new ice age that we were heading into in the late seventies and they were talking about the end of Northern Europe, half of north america and China as being places people could live.

If you are happy and have a warm place to sleep in with a person to keep you warm as well as a full belly and a steady paycheck then you are rich.

She did find a way. She exploited public service for personal gain. My guess is that she was never in it for the public service aspect anyway. But like I said, if someone wants to attack me for 12 million dollars a years, I can probably brush off their attacks all the way to the bank.

    In your opinion.

However, if you are going to yell about exploiting public service for personal gain, how about eliminating all of the speaking fees that politicians get for making public appearances? Then again, I'm certain that all Democratic/liberal politicians make public appearances for free?

Oh, and just a thought: is this a global warming thread or a Sarah Palin-bashing thread?

IMO, she exploited the media for personal gain, not the public service. I think it was the media building her up by trying to tear her down that led to her making all that money after she left public service. Which, as you point out, is a bit different than these losers who are in public service and actually (ab)use it for their personal gain.

I'm pretty sure that given the sequence of events, it was more than my opinion that Palin used her public notoriety to quit her elected office and take a much more lucrative gig with Fox and run around the country trying to pretend that she was running for president. It is my opinion that she probably has been trying to exploit some situation her entire life to get as much as possible.

However, my point was that the idea of public service has all but been traded in for the more self-serving idea of leveraging your public gig into cold hard cash. I'm not saying that others don't do it as well, I'm just saying that Palin is a very recent, blatant example of the new paradigm that the elected officials in this country are modeling. I do find it hilarious when they talk about small town people like they care about them and they are just like them.

I'm also not saying that she is any worse or any better than anyone else exploiting their elected office for personal gain but I sure have no respect for her for doing it. Why would I or anyone else for that matter? If in your opinion it amounts to bashing Palin for pointing out something she is actually doing, then I have to wonder what self-serving behavior she could demonstrate that you wouldn't consider Palin bashing if someone were to point it out? I mean, where is the line here anyway?

I could pretty much say the same things about Hillary Clinton. Getting elected to the NY Senate as a stepping-stone to a presidential nomination, etc. As you have no respect for Sarah Palin exploiting her elected office for personal gain, I have no respect for Hillary Clinton for doing the same thing. Just to keep this thread on the topic of "global warming", I think it may be due to all the hot air that Old "Sniper Fire" Hillary is spewing. Just sayin'.

Actually, I think Hillary kind of did it a little different. She exploited her fame as a First Lady in order to get her own elected political power...first as a Senator and then in run for President from which she was able to wrangle a payoff as Secretary of State. And from all that, she was able to hoard a net worth of between 10 and 50 million along the way.

Indeed she did. I didn't feel like rehashing her sordid life story for the benefit of those who are still going to worship her no matter what, so I just gave a "Cliff Notes" version. But, Hillary is truly the darling of exploitation of political office for financial gain.

Oh, and global warming is a sham.

Just curious why anyone would compare Palin to Clinton? I don't really see the similarities. For instance, Clinton...
Was president of the young republicans at Wellesley College
President of the Wellesley College government association
Worked on several presidential campaigned for both republicans and democrats
Has a B.A. with honors in political science
Delivered first ever commencement by a student at Wellesley College by request of the other students
(She got a 7 minute long standing ovation)
At the Yale Law School she served on the editorial board of the Yale Review of Law and Social Action
Worked for Senator Mondale on a subcommittee
Worked on a Connecticut senate race
    Campaigned in Texas for McGovern
Published in the Harvard Educational Review
Staff attorney at the Children's Defense Fund in Massachusetts
Consultant to Carnegie Council on Children
Was on the impeachment inquiry staff during the Watergate hearings
Taught law as a faculty member of the Univ. of Ark in Fayetteville
Pull partner in her law firm
    Was First Lady of Arkansas
And those were the early years of her career.....You know her story from there. First Lady of the United States, U.S. Senator, Presidential candidate, Secretary of State, .....

Now what exactly did Caribou Barbie do to achieve her position? Let's see, there was winning the Miss Wasilla contest and coming in 3rd in the Miss Alaska contest, she played the flute. She got elected to the Wasilla city council and Mayor of Wasilla. Then she became governor of Alaska.
Whereas Clinton's early years were steeped in political campaigns, politics, Children's welfare groups, law school, law firm partner, just to name a few, Palin was winning popularity contests at beauty pageants and working as a T.V. anchor. I really don't see why you compared Palin to Clinton. There are people similar to Palin on the Left but Clinton certainly isn't one of them. I wonder why you ran directly for Clinton?
