Clinton was born with the silver spoon which allowed her the Ivy League education & all that time to volunteer, Palin was middle-class & had work her way up the ladder.
Clinton married a guy who would become president...that's her only real accomplishment
Palin got elected to an office, did a good enough job to get elected to progressively higher offices. Her record as governor was incredible.

Face it, the left hates any minority who leans conservative & will stop at nothing to bring them down....ask Herman Cain.

Maybe I find it harder to criticize the dead. They could be lurking anywhere ya know. ;)

Not nearly as much as you repeatedly demonstrate here.

That's why you need to carry a gris-gris bag to protect yourself. :)

Yes, more than just a little bit. After all, it is with the distance of years that criticism becomes more objective. Although, if I'd had my coffee, I would have said "a criterion," which is proper usage. Ah well.

What you two rocket scientists seem to be intentionally ignoring is that Palin is out there speaking and tweeting and blogging and sticking her opinion into every situation in the public eye because she wants to be there. While the other folks have nothing more to add to their respective stories. Palin opens herself AND her family up to criticism every chance she gets. If she sticks her neck out, she has no right to think that people will not take a whack at it from time to time. Comprende?

Now see! Even you're talking about Palin rather than weather.

Because clearly you've hijacked the post and won't land it for refueling.

I don't think you can actually hijack your own post. That would be like kidnapping yourself and holding yourself for ransom don't think?

Well, I will have to remember to curb my criticisms of Bin Laden now that he is dead. lol I think Palin must prompt a Pavlovian response in the hard core liberal. Nothing they can do about it really. They just can't help themselves. Ding. Slobber. ;)

Now let's be fair. I do not care for our president and did not vote for him, but I have never been deranged about him--unless calling him an "empty suit" is being deranged. He is not the best president we've ever had, but I believe that Jimmy Carter is the worst. And, it might shock you to know that I consider Bill Clinton as one of the best, at least in my lifetime. Please don't assume you know my politics because I claim social conservatism. I am probably closer to the middle of the road than many who call themselves "Independents."

...eh... on the whole global warming thing:

...to be honest, I lost interest in this thread about midway through page two. By then most had made their beliefs about global warming known. After that I started flicking lint ...and ignored the screen lol

Me thinks there is a little defensive-itis at work. ;) I didn't vote for him (or McCain) but I don't think I am particularly hard on Obama. I don't call him out for anything more than I call out any other politician of either party and I just praised him in a recent thread I started. From where I sit, most all of the politicians are way to the extreme of my views. Either extreme left or extreme right but extreme either way.

I think the worst thing I have called the current President here is 'spineless' for caving to the Republicans on several major standoffs. But, an honest liberal would probably agree quite a bit with that assessment...at least in private, if there were no Republicans around. ;)

I will definitely agree that you straddle the fence with a high degree of frequency. But in all fairness, there are really only 3 types of people here. The rare fence sitters that take no real stand and just try to get along with everyone. Probably middle children. The extreme RW'ers that can only see all things Obama as akin to Satan. Sort of resembling rabid dogs. And then there are those that support Obama and occasionally put him down because he isn't as Left leaning as they'd like him to be but really see no other choice since the rest of the options are so damn bad. I'm in the latter category. I'd like Obama to be less of a corpora-crate and more of a Left leaning Democrat But I am stuck with a centrist.

Well, imagine that...you're wrong again- you must really enjoy being wrong because you certainly have it down to an artform.
The fact you sense hatred in my post says more about you than it does me, I'm afraid.

   ...ooooo-kay...back to the OP...I know, I know... "Why?"......

...to anyone who doesn't believe humans have increased the rate of the natural heating and cooling cycles the Earth goes through... and are willing to listen... here's some things to think about:

The Earth's atmosphere is thin compared to the Earth itself. The Karman (sic) line is roughly 62 miles above sea-level and is generally considered to be the point where space begins. Chloroflurorocarbons (CFCs) are believed to be the major cause of ozone depletion in the stratoshere, which is roughly 10 to 32 miles above sea level (at the equator, less at the poles). Mount Everest is just over 29,000 feet high, where humans cannot live for long due to less oxygen at that height. The point being that the Earth's atmosphere is very thin.

CFCs, along with carbon-dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and thousands of other natural and man-made gases have been released into the atmosphere at an increased rate since the Industrial Revolution. Homes, cars, industrial plants, etc. have released greenhouse gases into the atmosphere... it can't be denied, it's a certainty. The sun's energy is absorbed and refracted in a different manner due to the different ratio of gases in the atmoshere, similar to how a black-top driveway is hotter than a dirt driveway... the black-top absorbs more of the sun's energy and heats-up faster than the dirt does. We've black-topped the dirt... sort of...the effect on the Earth is that the heat can't escape as fast as it used to be able to.

So, we polute the atmosphere, which is very thin, and that has consequences. Some say that humans haven't been a factor in the global warming we are experiencing. IMO, to say that humans have had no effect on global warming is a case of someone being in denial and not using logic... in other words: ignorant.

I am one of the few here who has ever laid down actual ideas and plans for specific things I would like to see done that weren't just parroting or copy and pasted from some left/right wing talking point site. I have done it with spending cuts. I have done it with revenue. And I have done it with entitlements.

And when I agree with Obama - like on the veto of changes to sequestration or on the grand budget deal, I say so. And when I disagree with him on Afghanistan or Libya or in lacking a spine in dealing with Republicans or on the Bust/Obama Tax Cuts, I say that too.

Maybe it only looks like fence straddling because you seem to almost always follow and defend your party line no matter where it leads or how indefensible it is. You and your Republican Arch Enemy are much more alike than different in that regard.
