By disenfranchising voters and gerimandering congressional districts. Your own voting base hates the GOP.

But that is not what CAUSED the recession. It just makes recovery worse.

If you consider the dims controlled both Houses during Bush's final 2 years in office and have held the White House for an additional 8 years under BO, how much blame should they shoulder?

Against a GOP-controlled Congress that vowed to obstruct Obama at every turn, even if such obstruction brought America to it's knees?

    Yeah right, blame Obama, idiot.

So the dems wrote all of the bills 2 years before the recession, but had no blame? Oh, then they controlled both houses during the initial recovery (that was not a recovery) but they spent all of their time punishing America and the economy with Obamacare, but they have no blame? Then for the next 4 years, Reid acted as a human cork and personally blocked all the bills from the House, but he has no blame?

Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! Not one jobs bill in the entire stretch of the Republican controlled congress. Not one. If you can blame the Democrats for being in control of congress at the beginning of the recession, you also have to admit that the recovery was during the Republican controlled congress which completely negates their argument.

Not one YOU agreed with, but that does not make them non-jobs bills. Even a budget would have helped the economy. How many budgets did Reid sit on? And then there is Keystone. What did Reid do with Keystone? And those are just the beginning.

They don't have an argument. All they have is bs.

It's just one more layer of lies and deception, added on top of the enormous pile of crap they rely on to remain in power. They lie to their base, whip them into a righteous frenzy, with no thought as to the consequences.

Hell, they're so egotistical they think that system of governing actually stands a chance of surviving. It doesn't. Even as America declines, they ramp-up the bs, as if that's going to alleviate the problem. How can it? Deceit isn't going to solve anything, it just aggravates the problem.

It's time these bastards were exposed for who they are. Thanks to computers and the internet, it's getting awfully hard for them to hide their devious behavior. Why Anonymous doesn't target them is beyond me. If they got into the fight, to expose any and all nefarious activities, be it Democratic or republican, then maybe we could have a system of government that is truly accountable.

    IMO.

In the two years that Democrats had control of Congress, they passed the ACA. That was a Herculean effort, one that barely succeeded. You idiots complain that they couldn't get anything else done. How could they, given the amount of time they had?

And what has been done since? Fifty (and counting) ludicrous votes to repeal the ACA? How many votes did the republican-led Congress have on appreciating the flag, or are they over that type of unnecessary vote? How many Congressional hearings have there been on Benghazi? How much tax-payer $$$ was spent on that obvious attempt to smear the character of the presumed Democratic nominee?

Bullshit, that's all the republican Congress can deliver. They should be in prison for their atrocious behavior yet the Judicial system remains silent. Thanks to republicans, our system of government is completely fubar.

Are you upset because Hillary's poll numbers are slipping in Iowa, maggot? I know that's gotta hurt, but it's inevitable, right? I mean, she's a loser. She lost the nomination in 2008 and she's going to lose this one, too. It sucks to be a Democrat right now, that's for sure. The country has turned against them; but that's what "leadership" by Obama will do. No one likes Democrats anymore. Try running a candidate next time who isn't a lying scumbag harpy.

2 years and they passed one bill " given the amount of time they had". Are you really serious?

MEANWHILE, the economy kept getting worse, but they kept at Obamacare to increase the taxes, increase the paper work, and decrease the economy. Now you are living the result.

Yeah, he's serious. That's what's so laughable. The Democrats passed Obamacare which was worthless when it passed and is now officially a disaster. It's like the mongoloid child of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. But it will be repealed by the Republican congress next year and quickly euthanized by President Trump.

If you're going to spew out propaganda, at least find something that can't be debunked with a search engine.

The pathetic little bastards still believe they have a chance in hell of winning an argument using fiction.

If they were able to pass Obamacare without a single Republican vote and than unanimous dim support, what would have prevented them from passing anything else they wanted?

The fact that after that point, they needed 60 votes to pass everything and they didn't have it once that idiot Scott Brown won Kennedy's old seat on December 8, 2009. So Democrats had a very short window to accomplish anything. Why is actual history so difficult for you guys.

To reach 60 votes, negotiations were undertaken to satisfy the demands of moderate Democrats, and to try to bring several Republican senators aboard; particular attention was given to Bob Bennett, Mike Enzi, Chuck Grassley, and Olympia Snowe. Negotiations continued even after July 7 — when Franken was sworn into office, and by which time Specter had switched parties — due to disagreements over the substance of the bill, which was still being drafted in committee, and because moderate Democrats hoped to win bipartisan support. Then, on August 25, before the bill could come up for a vote, Ted Kennedy—a longtime healthcare reform advocate—died, depriving Democrats of their 60th vote. Before Kennedy's seat was filled, attention was drawn to Snowe because of her vote in favor of the draft bill in the Finance Committee on October 15, but she explicitly stated that this did not mean she would support the final bill.[84] Paul Kirk was appointed as Senator Kennedy's temporary replacement on September 24.

After the Finance Committee vote, negotiations turned to the demands of moderate Democrats, whose votes would be necessary to break the anticipated Republican filibuster. Majority leader Harry Reid focused on satisfying the Democratic caucus's centrist members until the holdouts came down to Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, an independent who caucused with Democrats, and Ben Nelson, a conservative Democrat, representing Nebraska. Lieberman, despite intense negotiations with Reid in search of a compromise, refused to support a public option, agreeing to vote for the bill only if the provision were not included,[84][102] although it had majority support in Congress. His demand was met.[103] There was debate among the bill's supporters over the importance of the public option,[104] although the vast majority of supporters concluded it was a minor part of the reform overall,[102] and Congressional Democrats' fight for it won various concessions, including conditional waivers allowing states to set up state-based public options such as Vermont's Green Mountain Care.[103][105]

With every other Democrat now in favor and every Republican now opposed, the White House and Reid moved on to addressing Nelson's concerns in order to winfilibuster-proof support for the bill;[106] they had by this point concluded "it was a waste of time dealing with [Snowe]"[107] because, after her vote for the draft bill in the Finance Committee, she had come under intense pressure from the Republican Senate leadership.[108] After a final 13-hour negotiation, Nelson's support for the bill was won with two concessions: a compromise on abortion, modifying the language of the bill "to give states the right to prohibit coverage of abortion within their own insurance exchanges", which would require consumers to pay for the procedure out of pocket if the state so decided; and an amendment to offer a higher rate of Medicaid reimbursement for Nebraska.[79][109] The latter half of the compromise was derisively called the "Cornhusker Kickback"[110] and was repealed in the subsequent reconciliation amendment bill.

On December 23, the Senate voted 60–39 to end debate on the bill: a cloture vote to end the filibuster. The bill then passed, also 60–39, on December 24, 2009, with all Democrats and two independents voting for it, and all Republicans against (except Jim Bunning, who did not vote).[111] The bill was endorsed by the AMAand AARP.[112]
