Did anyone see Harry Reid take a beating from Sharon Angle the other night? Is this all the democrats have got? The 3rd or 4th most powerful person in the US came off like a buffoon. T.A. Frank, a liberal journalist headline read, "Reid My Lips, Last Night Was a Disaster."

I don;t know if it was a beating because I didn't watch it. But, the shuffling of the papers for his closing statement got a chuckle when I saw it.

When Angle ask “How did you get so rich in the Senate? You didn’t have that much before you went in. Reid said, "everybody knows I was a successful lawyer, and then I invested well, and I live on a fixed income." “I paid for 100 semesters of school for my kids.” What? He may have had a private sector job for 2 years of his life from 1981 to 1983.

What about Nevada Gaming Commission chairmanship 1977-1981. Make any money there Harry?

How about phoney land deals Harry, care to discuss those!

Oh, those 3 boys he put through college are now all lobbyist.

Isn't Sharron Angle the one who wants 13 year old girls to be forcibly raped and have babies?

That is an interesting way to characterize the anti-abortion stance!

If you have some knowledge of Angle advocating the forced rapes of 13 year old girls please let us know...it could change a lot of people's opinion of her and influence the outcome of the election. I despise Reid but if his opponent wants 13 year old girls raped, as you have stated, I would side with ol Harry in a minute!

LMAO! She stated she would force rape victims and incest victims who became pregnant to have the baby. ''Make lemonade out of lemons''. Is what she said. But I like yours better. My mistake. I meant to quote Peter.

But that's different than what Peter said:

"Isn't Sharron Angle the one who wants 13 year old girls to be forcibly raped and have babies?"

If Peter is telling the truth, she's a horrible person. If he's lying about something like this then he is the horrible person.

I didn't say she's the one who's going to do the raping on her own. Of course, if she were sane, she might try focusing on how the government can help protect children by putting pedophiles behind bars permanently. But nooooooooo, the tea party crazies wouldn't want that, would they? They choose to focus on how to further victimize the victims by having Big Government decide who the government is going to force to have babies. I hate abortion and think it's wrong, but I can't think of a worse way for Big Government to get involved in people's lives than by saying who can and can't have babies.

You know, I'm a Christian and I believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each one of our lives and that he can intercede in all kinds of situations and we need to have a little faith in many things.

    Including rape, I guess.

Peter...do you have any context for your statement......if she said that, shes outta here.

She never said that, she just doesn't make exceptions to her anti-abortion stance. She is not alone and this is not a new debate. Many people believe that abortion is tantamount to murder and that even rape does not give you the right to kill.

I am not one of those people and believe in a woman's right to choice. However, I respect the opinion of peaceful pro-life advocates and would not use a very cheap trick like Peter just did in an attempt to crucify their belief.

The real question isn't who can or can't have babies, but rather who can kill babies, isn't it?
Peter, your tepid pro-life stance is betrayed with that very telling "but"...very similar to dr moen claiming to support the 2nd Amendment but.....

David, where you misunderstand me is that I don't think the government is the answer to every problem. This is one of those things that I don't think the government can solve. I don't think its possible to ever completely eradicate the necessity for abortions, there will always be pedophiles who rape young girls which results in pregnancies which must be terminated, only inhuman *******s don't understand that. The overriding truth, IMO, is that we cannot look to the government to decide for us when it is and when it is not moral to terminate a pregnancy. What the government SHOULD be doing is working at reducing the opportunity that pedophiles have to impregnate young girls. I don't care really whether it's a lifetime sentence in prison or a bullet to the head, either way works for me.

Here is what Anle said: ................................................Stock: Let me bring up one other topic that I rarely talk about here, because it's one of those topics that's a lose-lose, but we've got to talk about it because it was brought up in your TV interview and that has to do with the issue of abortion, and whether or not abortion should be available in the case of rape or incest. The question to you at the time by the interviewer was that do you want the government to go and tell a 13 year-old child who has been raped by her father that she has to have that baby. And of course you responded 'I didn't say that I always say that I value life.' Where do you stand on the issue of abortion, a consensual abortion, from a person who is raped or is pregnant as a result of incest?
Angle: Well right now our law permits that. My own personal feelings and that is always what I express, my personal feeling is that we need to err on the side of life. There is a plan and a purpose, a value to every life no matter what it's location, age, gender or disability. So whenever we talk about government and government's role, government's role is to protect life and that's what our Founding Father said, that we have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Stock: What do you say then to a young girl, I am going to place it as he said it, when a young girl is raped by her father, let's say, and she is pregnant. How do you explain this to her in terms of wanting her to go through the process of having the baby?

Angle: I think that two wrongs don't make a right. And I have been in the situation of counseling young girls, not 13 but 15, who have had very at risk, difficult pregnancies. And my counsel was to look for some alternatives, which they did. And they found that they had made what was really a lemon situation into lemonade. Well one girl in particular moved in with the adoptive parents of her child, and they both were adopted. Both of them grew up, one graduated from high school, the other had parents that loved her and she also graduated from high school. And I'll tell you the little girl who was born from that very poor situation came to me when she was 13 and said 'I know what you did thank you for saving my life.' So it is meaningful to me to err on the side of life.

The interview, which took place on the conservative Alan Stock radio show. It is noteworthy primarily to the extent that it shows how doctrinaire Angle's views on abortion really are. The Nevada Republican earlier discussed her beliefs on the topic during an interview with the Bill Manders in which she called pregnancy in cases of rape and incest, "God's plan."

Since then, she's embraced the absolutist label she's been handed on abortion policy, refusing to back down from her statement to Manders during subsequent interviews and, clearly, expanding on it during her sit down with Alan Stock.

Ive looked all over and couldnt find anything on her counseling pregnant teens.

I'm still waiting on your proof that Sharon Angle supports forced rape of 13 year olds as you stated earlier.

Sounds like we have a host that is being provacative and taking things out of context.......it should read " if a 13 year old WAS forcibly raped, I would be against abortion and for adoption " ( to paraphrase ).

And that Angle statement that I paraphrased, I could live with. I am against abortion period, unless the death of the birth mother is at stake. So many couples are waiting for adoption, why murder a baby that could otherwise have a great home and loving parents?

    And Incest

And incest what? You think aborting a baby due to incest is ok? Or isnt? And do you think a woman who gets raped and becomes pregnant should be forced to have the child whether she wants it or not? And why would anyone want to subject a 13 year old to something like that? That by law she is forced to become a mother? That seems rather harsh. Or is it somehow her fault for being raped? And maybe that'll teach her to go walking around? Your punishing the victim with a reminder of a horrible offense. How about a law that states if someone leaves a kid at your door that you must raise it and care for it. and no half ass care for it either. Is there a shortage of babies at orphanages because of abortions? A baby in an orphanage isnt guaranteed a great home to loving parents is it? Maybe the kid is ugly and no one picks it. No loving parents then, huh?

What, me be provocative? Neeeeever...... lol
You know, if someone asked me for advice, I would suggest adoption as well. But, nobody I know has ever been in that position let alone ask me for the advice. Bottom line is that I don't think the government should be forcing that choice on people. Republicans are only for small government when it serves their agenda. Republicans want to tell everyone when they can and can't have kids, who they can and can't marry, what's next? where we can and can't live? oh, yea, right, they're already working on that one....
