The Marshall Plan was the brainchild of an individual. The clue is in the name. You want to give the American public credit for the idea of a particular individual, which seems like pretty weak sauce to me. I didn't say I thought that the American public was unwilling to help, when led in that direction. In general, often the American public is rather generous, if generosity is sold to them properly.

 

If you got the impression that I'm trying to excuse any candidate's tactics, you weren't comprehending what I was saying. I was merely acknowledging the fact that Obama was walking in the footsteps of practically every politician who has gone before him. I don't think you were taken in by those tactics any more than the American public was. One more time: The public looked at the available candidates and the majority decided that those who ran opposite Obama were a worse choice.

Are these silly little icons that are meant to be fun really determining your opinions in this forum? Why would anyone see your opinions as anything other than a joke?

 

Heheh, if you're not seeing "SPACED" as my mood, then it's something on your end. I haven't touched it. I chose that one precisely because it's unlikely that anybody else on this site is going to use it; I've long been a supporter of the space program, and a lover of science fiction. I've never changed it since putting it up, and I'm unlikely to do so. I've been through a lot worse than the feeble jibes which often pass for discussion here.

 

It has reappeared. Don't know and don't care to know.
