I felt certain that I would likely never again witness a Presidency that elicited as much viral emotion in people as Trump…. Today driving home from the beach I saw a new bumper sticker that showed up on a number of cars, “F**k Joe and his Ho”….. coming on the heels of the “Let’s Go Brandon” movement, I am thinking I may have incorrectly assumed Trump elicited the most viral response. It does my heart good to know I am not the only American that has watched his liberties erode in the span of eleven months to the absurd point that we would accept IRS intrusion into our checking accounts over a $600.00 transaction. The Uber-left wingers may need a daddy state to oversee their lives, but most of us Americans prefer, no we need to know that we can succeed or fail on our own. I am relieved to see I am not alone in that endeavor.
With approval ratings below 40% and this many disasters in the first year of an administration (which supports that low approval rating), there should be plenty of people out there that feel the need to vent their frustration. And in this case, the frustration isn't based on someone with bad manners but someone that is making everyday life harder for the majority of average folks.
I don’t think democrats are willing to attribute these failures to their ideals . . . Not while it’s politically expedient to instead pin the tail on the Biden donkey. That’s exactly where they’ll go during the next campaign cycle. Their reply to accusations that they got it all wrong will almost certainly be, “we had to do something”. If the truth be told, we’d be better off right now if they’d done nothing at all. Trump was far from perfect, but he was also far, far better than what they put forth . . . Biden or otherwise. I don’t feel great challenging your words MD, but I would not refer to the current administration or its satellite operatives as “mighty” by any stretch. Personally, I think it should be more like, “How The Flighty Have Fallen”.
The Biden Administration would certainly have been much better off had they done almost nothing (left almost everything as is) and just tackled a few items (like infrastructure, where they could still hand out plenty of kickbacks to their donors/insiders). However, as your other thread mentioned, it's the extremists who have the loudest voice in this regime. So they were set on reversing what worked and pushing their agenda. The one hope we have is that these people won't learn from their mistakes when it comes to the 2022 (and 2024) elections. They will campaign on even more "progressive" ideals and say they didn't go far enough (just like post Virginia where they claimed McAuliffe was too "moderate"). The people will see the madness and reject these candidates in favor of more sensible ones.
Yup, that'd be my preference, but I think that enough of them have figured out that what they wanted really doesn't work. There'll still be the holdout progressives who would die on their sword, but I think they'll be outnumbered, and ultimately be ignored this time around. Look for the frustrated progressives to resort to violence after the next election.
Which is exactly what they did when Trump was elected the first time. Once he's elected a second time, there will be no end to their violence.
Maybe you should leave your heart out of this and use your brain for a change. The IRS was talking about adding two data points to their collection of data from financial transactions over $600 to assist them in catching tax cheats. If you're a tax cheat, then I hope the IRS is all the way up your ass already. However, the threshold of $600 was never instituted but the Right-wing outrage machine never lets facts like that stop them from whining about their liberties being eroded while their own party has passed law after law in red state after red state limiting voting, taking over election processes, and passing absurd rules that are aimed directly at minorities. If you really had any concept of liberties being eroded, you might have started with the hundreds of GOP passed laws attacking voting rights across the country based on the lie that the 2020 election was stolen not this idiotic Right-wing BS that never even became law.
An FDQ Exit followed by 2 Returns is the very definition of an insincere person with an Ideology of Division. The Returning FDQ does not have any Self Respect or any self dignity to keep their personal promise to leave and not return...Ever. Never. Trumpterbation is always at the Heart of their quest for physical self-satisfaction. The FDQer does not know anything else to discuss concerning a Federal Republic, without sounding like a castrated dog in Heat. Clown.
Admittedly I do tend to lead from my heart. This whole federal intrusion hit home with me when I was notified the cash gifts I send to my oldest daughter via PayPal are now regarded as income for her. The magic number? Amazingly it is $600.00…. I could send her a $2000.00 diamond necklace with no issue, however if I send her a cash gift (that I have already been taxed for) via PayPal, it is regarded as income for her….. I am far too honest to be a tax cheat. However that does not mean I care to have the fed eyeballing my personal checking account. Where does the line get drawn after that? Vehicle speed monitoring in my car? Federally mandated salt dispensers on my kitchen table? When is enough truly enough?
