Is BO the most devisive President ever?

He calls half the population "enemy", he says half the country can come along for the ride but has to sit at the back of the bus? This is pretty extreme, don't you think?

Without a doubt. Just another 180 he's done from the campaign rhetoric. More lies. Haven't seen any president more divisive or who lies as much as he does. He's the champion. Fortunately, 2012 just around the corner!

He also lied when he said Repubs had no ideas. No ideas? What about the conference he came to where he was presented with a catalogue of Republican ideas? Heck, BO welcomed Hugo Chavez' book (remember Chavez approaching BO & handing him that book?) more graciously that he accepted the Republicans ideas...ideas he claimed didn't exist.

I'd say he has a good ways to go before he's as divisive as Lincoln was. Until a Civil War breaks out, I'd say Lincoln pretty much has "Most Divisive President" locked.

Can't argue with the Lincon Post but keeping it real, I find it strange that BO is very popular with the UK public where as George W wasn't to say the least. Even most Brits who lean to the right would rather have a Democrat in. However despite this George W managed to build a far better working relationship with the British government even when we had a left wing one in power than what BO has managed with a moderate British Government.

BO is likable enough but he's an empty suit, all style but no substance. With Bush, it was all business & your people knew he would get things done.

Yeah, found it strange that Tony Blair liked him on a personal level as well as a business one especially as Blair himself is more of a BO in character. George W was not liked by the British public at all and the New Orleans affair made him look pretty incompetent to the world outside the US.

Bush may take a lot of blame for Katrina but in reality it is the New Orleans establishment & local/state government that was at fault. I live on the Gulf Coast from 1992-1996 & we got our TV news & newspapers from New Orleans. Every time money was appropriated for levy maintenance or updating the pumping system, the local gov't always found alternative uses for it...it was an ongoing controversy.
The city had 3 to 5 days advance notice before the storm hit to come up with an evacuation plan but Mayor Ray Nagin sat on his tail. Once the storm came, the Federal gov't offered assistance but it was initially turned down by Nagin & Mary Landrieu. So now, you know the rest of the story.

Great informed response. Must have pissed Bush off because the rest of the world saw him as a right Language Please. It was pretty embarassing for the US, the media made you look like a third world country over the incident. The pictures of the black guy holding up the baby begging for formula also pressed a racist angle.

I can see the point about Obama being "all style but no substance", but all style but no substance ≠ divisive. I think you may be mixing up the "divisive" thing with the fact that lots of people who hate him, hate him because he's black.

You are combining 2 seperate points. 1) He is devisive- the point of my original post & 2) He is an empty suit- the response to JJ's follow up posting. One doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the other, they are simply just criticisms.
Anyone who takes issue with BO simply because he is black is a moron...there are more than enough valid reasons to oppose him (and his agenda).

By lots, I hope this is a small minority? (honest reply please) Colin Powell was also EXTREMELY popular in the UK and very well respected and the same can be said for Condoleezza Rice (she's quite fit too in my opinion :) )

And this is a world problem not just the US, i strongly believe it is down to this:

Corruption is just another word for business, capitalism...pick your word.

Ok. Business and capitalism sucks. For your sake, lets scrap that. What's next? What should we move to in your mind? The government is already bankrupt with a mixture of capitalism and socialism. How do we handle the next stage moving forward? What should the average man like you, expect out of life (or be allowed to expect) now and what will be the motivating factor for everyone to get out of bed in the morning, much less work hard to come up with innovative ideas? We're all listening.

To be perfectly honest, I don't see this country going anywhere except down in flames. It is apparent to me that the right will ensure that is exactly what happens. Greed has swallowed us as a country, and people are oblivious. When the whole house of cards finally does collapse (and it will...soon), then, and only then, will there be a chance to have a better system arise out of the ashes, that is, if we survive the aftermath. Until then? I have to go on pretending there will be a future, to fake it until then. That's the system, and it doesn't look like it's going to change short of a full collapse. So....I join the rest of the lemmings and march into the ovens. Any "hope" or "change" will be squashed by the elite right. You can bet your a** on that. Such is life! So smile, and pretend all is wonderful until the pit opens. What other choice is there?

That's still not an answer tom. You rail against our current system so give us your alternative. We know you want to put an end to everything Capitalist but what would you like to see replace it (and don't cop out with "the opposite of Capitalism")? Be specific, heck, make it a learning moment with your son. I'll bet, if you try, you can construct a lucid response that doesn't include Bush or 9/11 too...ask your son to help you if are tempted to go off an a tirade or tangent.

Is Obama divisive? He certainly is! He's an ultra-liberal and has pushed a liberal agenda. Being that the country is split conservative/liberal, by matter of definition he's divisive.

However, the idea that he's divisive based on his race is simply an invalid point. Certainly, there are going to be people who don't like him because of his race, but that's going to happen regardless of a politician's heritage be it white, black, etc.

He's divided this country by pushing his liberal agenda.. and he's finding out now that the country doesn't like it.
