I saw this ad today, allegedly it was produced by the Republican Party and published in California. Do you think Obama is a terrorist? Do you think he should be tortured? Do you think it's ok for the Republican Party to be putting out things like this?
Do you think Obama is a terrorist? No. Do you think he should be tortured? No. Do you think it's ok for the Republican Party to be putting out things like this? No. But I have a hard time believing either party would be stupid enough to put out something like that. And, believe me, I think they an be pretty stupid. But, if they were that stupid, it is despicable.
Wow. Apparently it is true. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/15/gop-site-california-removes-waterboard-obama-graphic/ That is disgusting on so many levels.
This is what desperation looks like. The tone is not unlike the message left on my answering machine today by a McCain supporter. Words like 'Obama = terrorist' and 'kill Americans'. It's insulting to the the American electorate.
Totaly out of order, If Obama had done something like this then this board would be sizzling with complaints
What exactly does "Words like 'Obama = terrorist' and 'kill Americans'" really mean? Let's see, so far I have had 1 McCain sign stolen from my yard & 1 burned. Does that mean Obama is a thief & an arsonist?? I did hear today that Obama, due to his associations with the likes of Bill Ayers & some other admissions, was denied a Top Security clearance by the Secret Service. Imagine a US President who can't pass a background check!!!!!
I've had 2 Obama signs destroyed within 24 hours of putting them up. Tomorrow, I'll put up the 3rd one and they'll have a difficult time trying to destroy it and it's going to be higher profile. If they want to play, I'll teach'em how a toad plays! Ribbit Ps: Peter, that ad does not surprise me. The Republican Party doesn't have a platform on which to stand, so attack they must and in any way possible. I was a life-long republican, up until Baby Bush, now I deplore them!
Is it fair? No more than McCain will keep troops in Iraq for 100 years. Is politics fair? Not really.
Once we go somewhere, we rarely leave. Korea, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kuwait to name a few. Maybe after he gets us out of Iraq, Obama can get us out of the rest of the world too.
well I have heard a good amount of calls for that from the right, but I agree the likelyhood that we will just pull out is slim, we will be there in some form for years to come.
How unfortunate and how true. I'd love to see the U.S. really cut back on the military presences overseas. Sure there are "hot spots" but why do we spend so much money on places like Germany, Italy and Japan? We need a presence there but how much? I run into enough military people that tell me what a great time they had in these places. Sure, they are defending our country as well as our allies' but what is the real threat? Are other nations attacking these nations? Are the Muslims and Communists just knocking at the door? No, and if they were we could deploy in a heartbeat if one really thinks about it. In times of peace (especially) and even war our troops should be maintained and groomed here. Considering we are non-conscriptional this makes even more sense in "quiet" periods. Bottom line is it's more cost effective and considering taxpayers foot the bill we want more "bang for our buck". This would also increase our capability to develop and, if needed, deploy better trained and better equipped troops. I don't want to see this country as a "war power" but would like to see others saying "don't mess with the U.S. - they have the firepower just waiting". Totally different ideologies but does anyone see others mess with the Chinese? Hell no, it would be mass suicide. As nuts as Kim Jung Il is (spelling?) has he been invaded? Nope, course he has a bit of Chinese backing there. We have cornered ourselves into the "world policeman" role while we ignore our own. Yes, put troops where they are needed (Afghanistan leaps to mind) but start pulling where they aren't. We need to start defending OUR country. Literally.
