Visiting my family on a recent trip, my wife and I stopped at my sister and her husband's house for a visit. These two are genuinely nice people but completely up Trump's ass if you know what I mean. At one point my wife said that the Olympics were next month in Tokyo and that they were restricting visitors due to COVID. My rabid Trump supporting brother-in-law said that he would never go anyway because China had created the virus. My wife said that Tokyo was in Japan not China. My brother-in-law said no it isn't, it is in China. Exasperated by the nonsensical argument, she finally told him to look it up. He did and said, "Oh, I guess it is."

Sure this is just one example but they are just as confident in the things that you can't simply look up like geography when it comes to politics. They have absolutely no idea what they are talking about but it never stops them from arguing nonsense anyway. These are typical Trump supporters. Prove me wrong. Let thhe fight begin.

In March of 2020 my brother told me Bill Gates was behind the virus so he could make more money with a vaccine.
    "Everybody knows that" he exclaimed.

I googled it when we got off the phone. I found a blurb on Facebook.
A great place to get news.

I heard so much stupid fall out of his mouth in that conversation that I have only spoken to him once since then.

What's scary is my brother is not genuinely stupid. He's an optometrist.

He just buys into any of the crap that he is fed.

My sister told me that Biden tripped going up the steps so he had dementia. Hum? I didn't realize that dementia was diagnosed that way. But don't try and tell her differently.

There are stupid people on both sides of the aisle. I’m no more proud of the conservative dolts than you are of the liberal equivalents.

That is a fair enough statement but it isn't like there is a 1-for-1 match that makes both sides equal. Neither of us can hold up one person and have the other match that example with one person from the other end of the spectrum. It doesn't work like that. Your argument presupposes that it does. Your argument simply fails to address the topic completely by avoiding any acknowledgement of the problem with your preferred cohort by simply saying there are problems on both sides thus avoiding any real discussion of the issues. It's a defense but a poor defense. You might as well of just said "Nuh-uh!" it would have been about as convincing as the bothsiderism you routinely employed.

Then how about "I know you are but what am I?"?

Your original post presupposes that all Trump voters are Trump fans. There’s a big difference between someone who is a foaming-at-the-mouth rabid Donald Trump fan and someone who doesn’t care for him but will do their utmost to prevent a worse Democrat candidate become president.

I’m sure you don’t view things through this lens, but there are far more enemies of the Democrat Party than there are rabid Trump fans. It’s no wonder you mistake the former for the latter, as you would rather not acknowledge . . . No, you would rather not even believe that intelligent, critical-thinking individuals would disagree with your vision of how things ought to be. We, with whom your agenda does not resonate, must necessarily be deplorable troglodytes.

so far the dolts haven't made biden into a shrill hate object like they did with the black man and the woman.

You just don't get it FD . . . Racism is not a Conservative value. Racism is a liberal tool.

Conservatives and the GOP just happen to be all white, fans of the confederacy and white power movements.

look at the background at a trump rally, dummy.

And who do you think showed up at those rallies? The rabid Trump fans, or the rank and file Trump voters? Of all the people I know of who voted for Trump, I don’t recall ever meeting a single one who had actually attended a rally. You are talking about extremists, similar to the whack jobs you have on your own side of the aisle.

By the way, you use the word dummy so loosely . . . It belies deep-seated insecurities.

all this backpedaling you do is good cardio. If you vote for Trump than you stand for absolutely nothing but hate and personal wealth.

Backpedaling, nothing. You wouldn't recognize a valid point if it slammed you in the teeth.

By voting for Trump, I stood against liberalism, yes. If you want to call it hate against liberalism, I'll accept that as your interpretation, although I do consider hate a stronger than accurate characterization. If I hated liberals, I'd disown my daughter and her friends, but I do not. I believe in her ability to learn from personal life experiences as she matures. She has already complained of injustices that affected her personally, but not yet made the connection to root cause. That will come in time.

I do not stand for the right to personal wealth . . . just the right to pursue it, if one cares to make the attendant sacrifices.

You, on the other hand, stand for personal wealth at someone else's expense. Everyone is entitled to the same as everyone else? . . . what a blind notion.

Personal wealth can be riches in love, in idle time, in comfort, in peace of mind, in material things, in health, any combination of the foregoing, or any other form one desires. Your particular focus on wealth in the form of money ignores the fact that those lacking money probably have more than their fair share of wealth in one or more of those other areas.

You might, if you thought about it really hard, but I'd hate to see you injure yourself.

refusing to raise the debt ceiling is one of the GOP’s favorite tricks to screw up the functions of our government that they want to replace with a billionaire-owned oligarchy. They’re looking for ways to sabotage the economy so they can blame Biden and Democrats come 2022 and 2024.
