Well, It seems a recent ad by the McCain campaign has Chicago's Mayor Daley just a wee bit hot. Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that Mayor Daley is as honest as the day is long. I've lived with Chicago politics all of my life and don't even live in Illinois but we sure do see it on TV. The McCain campaign took on a machine as it were. Not real wise IMO when Daley is the head of the machine. So here's a blog found on the Chicago Sun-Times website. Sure it's slanted and yes, a copy and paste. A copy and paste from a well respected newspaper. All that crap aside it's interesting reading. http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/09/mccain_attack_on_obama_and_cor.html#more So like it or not Daley makes some very realistic points about how the people and media think. Dems are not running scared. McCain is his own worst enemy at times it seems. Granted, Illinois should be a shoe in for Obama but did ANYONE in the McCain camp consider that Chicago news is heard big time in Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana and Michigan? If the McCain campaign has a strategy I'd love to see it. Attacking the machine doesn't seem to be a very wise one.
Interesting. Read on the blog and you'll see the NYT article referencing the fact that McCain was exonerated. It is about time to open up the Chigaco connections. Go McCain. Problem is, McCains is an old story. Nothing new there. The Obama " bloody hand" in the current financial collapse, ala Franklin Rains ( spelling ) , Johnson, Countrywide, etc is being covered up by the media, but will be blasted open soon. Let the chips fall. Go McCain and open up Chicago dirty politics as far as they can get. Daley, the pillar of credibility !!!
Daley, Obama, Ayers, Rezko, Farakkhan, Wright, etc....they are all part of the same machine they just fill diifferent roles within that machine. Some change, huh?
In my opinion, the biggest problem with Chicago is that it is in Illinois. I would be more than happy to let Indiana or Wisconsin or even Michigan have it.
