Cmon Mr Moen, keep it fair. You are as guilty as anybody dropping your cut and pastes, and you sometimes cannot form an opinion without help from MediaMatters. Just sayin.

But moen PHD thinks he and his cronies are superior. Anyone who disagrees with their opinion is both wrong and any other derogatory comment he can think of at the moment

The funny thing about right and wrong is perspective... and getting a majority to agree on anything is a minor miracle lol

Something even funnier - the whole purpose of politics is to make laws, but you say "I've never cared for laws".

Most laws are a necessary evil. And some are an unnecessary evil. And a few are even good. But there are still way too many.

I can actually appreciate that mentality! Same one I use when voting against anybody republican. ANYBODY...except a republican. Dead, illegal alien, Walmart greeter, a piece of cardboard. ANYBODY. Just not a right wing whacko.

I really wish the folks here could dump the partys and size up a candidate based on value alone.

When I started here, I was a die hard Repo brain dead partyline ticket guy. After getting serious, and actually developing a hobby with politics, I am now a political junky who despises both major partys. Still a die hard conservative, even more set in my ways these days. I have watched my x party go to $hit before my eyes, and the Dems sure haven't offered anything that I would consider voting for.

Like I said in several other threads, it wil take a grassroots effort to weed out this 2 party corrupt system. Could take years, but then again, so did the original American Revolution. This time, let's not do it with bullits, lets do it with ballots.

I'd like to see that too, but I'm more pessimistic... I doubt the system, as is, is viable enough to solve the corruption problems ...it's systematic. Even if a something like the Tea-Party manages to create a three-party system, I have serious doubts they wouldn't just buy into the system themselves and become just as corrupt.

Like you said though, there's always the possibility for true change... and I'd rather see a three-party system than the current two, it'd be wayyy more interesting lol

I have dumped the two major partys for the most part. I still refuse to vote for anybody with an (R) next to their name though. The right wing support the wealthy. I'm not wealthy, and likely never will be. In my view, the republican party will always be against my best interests by default, as they cater to the wealthy, first and foremost. The Dems are pretty sh*tty themselves. Obama has been a real waste. He's George W all over again...just smarter. The system is completely corrupt and unfixable. It needs to be scrapped. The criminals aren't going to make laws to put themselves in jail. The Dems ain't much, but when the alternative is a republican, hey, what can ya do?

You already dumped the 2 party system when you told us you were a Libertarian. Remember that one?

The bar to get on that ride is so high and the parties so powerful that it will probably never happen. The 2 parties combined had 1 billion dollars to spend on the Presidential campaign last year. The highest third parties? Nader had 4 million and Barr had 1 million. To put it in perspective, those 2 amounts combined (5 million), isn't even enough money to get elected Mayor of Chicago these days. Emanuel spent 11 million.

Still a hypocrite I see. ''Since I have craig on ignore..'' Youre so full of crap.

Took you off ignore last week, I found the (unintentional) humor in what you had to say to much to miss out on. You & tomc just put a smile on my face with your shear stupidity and off-the-mark commentary. I find it hard to believe that you can actually function without a great deal of help.

Jack, I'm glad to see that you're back to your feisty old self again. Given your return to the fray in high spirits, I will take issue with your position here.

How do you separate the candidate from the party these days? Especially on the Right. Lockstep voting is the hallmark of the Right wing. Not that Democrats will not vote together on occasion but nothing like Republicans.

You remind me of that guy in the old westerns that comes down from the mountain every couple of years and doesn't like anything he sees when he gets to town. Convinced of his idea that there is nothing worth a damn in society, he again retreats to the top of the mountain so he can again look down upon the all things he despises. After years of this behavior he finally convinces himself to stop visiting the town all together and spends the rest of his life alone atop a mountain not only separating himself from all "evils" of the town but all that is good about the town as well. If you can’t live in town, try a ranch on the edge of town first. Nothing in life is all bad or all good.

Pretty insightful Mr Moen. Off to work but I think I will suffer thru the debate tonight and then offer up a reply :)

Edit: Mr Moen, you sigline is not a quote from Ron Paul, it is from Sinclair Lewis. Look into it.

Edit #2: re: tonights debate prediction.
The media will fawn all over Romney, express doubt about Gingrichs chances and attempt to marginalize the outsiders.
