Very interesting opinion, but the facts do not jive with your opinion. Of the 100 senators, 28 voted 100% against the conservative , but only 11 voted 100% for conservative. Ratings of Congress | The American Conservative Union. A quick check of the house showed again about 2:1 more liberals voting 100% as a block than the conservatives.
Rlm, didn't click your link as I am running off to work this morning, but, in recent years most of the voting has been lockstep on both sides of the aisle with the exception of Snowe and Collins, both from Maine and both closet liberals. The only recent non party example I can think of is the recent 97-0 vote against the BO '12 budget.
I have no argument when someone says both sides are too partisan in their voting. However, moen phd said "Especially on the Right. Lockstep voting is the hallmark of the Right wing. Not that Democrats will not vote together on occasion but nothing like Republicans. " The facts, if anything, show it to be the exact opposite.
dr moen, phd has been intructed to say things like this, it's part of the far left fringe's talking points.
Really? Guess that depends where you live. Pickup trucks, shotguns and the RNC go hand in hand where I live. No chance of anybody even considering a dem here and they don't know how to do anything here except vote in blocks. (R)....cause it's towards the bottom of the alphabet and they remember something about (D) being taught in the fifth grade as closer to (B) for bad. They count to 5 from (A) and wind up at G or H, but remember that (R) is way down towards the other end (or the bottom) of the food chain, like they are. (R) is closer to Z than D so, they look for R. Other than that, they probably have no clue who they actually vote for.
Not really. I admittedly will vote against anyone republican, and proudly so. I don't pretend to "weigh the options", so to speak. Any republican vote is a very bad option. I didn't need the preacher at my local church or Fox news to tell me so. No, the republicans I've been subjected to over the course of my life time, have earned their standing with me. They're all about the cash, the corporations, and profit, profit, profit. The country is on the verge of default and much worse to come. All primarily fueled by the Neocons. I'm serious, folks around here literally don't know who there voting for. They just vote (R).
Those stats are for the US Senate and House. You aren't really trying to tell me you live somewhere else, are you?
Really? Do you believe the half the crap you post here? You expect us to believe every single person in your area drives a pick up & votes Republican? Bull! I expect your area is no different than the areas any one of us here lives in. You have to start distinguishing your delusions from reality. Or are you just lying?
P He didn't say every single person drives a pickup. I know you can read. So how did you come up with that?
They all vote republican. They're taught from birth to do so. I won't say trust me, but, trust me. Fox, (R), pickup trucks and shotguns (probably exactly in that order too).
Man, I thought I lived in a redneck area Rural southern Illinois where going to the big city means getting in you pickup and driving 20 miles to a town of 17000 people. Guns are plentiful and hunting is huge. And It is almost as white down here as the UK. Plenty of necks to get red And still Obama got 42% of the vote here In the neighboring county where the big city is 20k, he got 60%.
Apparently you're handed a bible, the keys to your grand daddy's pickup truck, some deer meat, deer balz to hang on yer bumper, and an "I swear to uphold the immorality of the RNC, so long as my preacher tells me it's what God would do" ID card.
