Hey all, I'm watching Fox News right now, and they're saying that North Korea has agreed to give up its nuclear weapons program! They're saying that NK has formed an agreement to give up all nuclear technology until the international community deems it trustworthy to continue passive nuclear technology (such as power plants). In exchange, they're getting oil and food and other stuff because their people are starving. I never thought I'd see the day! I just thought that anybody who's interested and watching right now would want to know! ~AJ
Thank you ajm, the news is great. It's amaqing what letting the population get hungry will do for the thinking of the their leaders! Now I suggest that we wait and see if this is followed through or if they pull a Moan-n-switch on the rest of us.
Call me negative, but I am NOT going to hold my breath. South Korea has been near and dear to me for almost 30 years now.....and I've seen such statements from NK before......many many many many many many......INHALE......many many many many many many....phew puff puff puff INHALE.....many many many many many many.....times. I sincerely hope this is a first step on a long road to reunification. Thanks for sharing ajm
I have to agree here, and with OldDan on the points that North Korea has some SERIOUS sucking up to do to the rest of the world in proving that they're serius about this. I've been reading up on this (because I don't know much about it to begin with) and I learned that they had said they were going to disarm before and slinked around and out of that agreement. But it's DEFINITELY a step in the right direction if they're seriously gonna follow through this time! ~AJ
If North Korea has the bomb it is because China wanted them to. If North Korea has given up plans with developing the bomb, well that is because China wanted them to. At least that is what I think and I also think that China does not want any real competition to its power in Asia. They already kicked out the British in a legal way and if you haven't noticed we have been slowly pulling back and out as well. After all that is acknowledged now as their sphere of influence.
Well, that lasted about 24 hours. The North Koreans queered the deal today by demanding that the United States build them a nuclear reactor for power generation. The Clinton Administration fell for that BS a decade ago. North Korea is a joke, albeit in very poor taste.
