Because most human suffering is self inflicted. I would bet a a dollar to a bucket of mud that if you showed me ten suffering individuals, I could show you nine crack pipes.

Yeah . . . so do rank and file liberals, especially those in the trans community who often get insurance to pay for it, which hardly anyone else can. Touche'

Wealth is absolutely not a zero sum game. This is brainwashing from the left that you have unfortunately bought into. Keep believing this nonsense and you’ll remain in the cast that you reside in.
Zero sum would assume (we all know what assumptions are) that there is a pie of “wealth” and the bigger slice of this pie reduces the other slices for everyone else. Not true. I suggest…

    Bake another pie.

If there is 0 net sum “game”, as you claim, for housing, healthcare, and food is a concern, why is the left so opposed to deporting illegal immigrants? Don’t they reduce your pie?

What is your pie worth if everyone has a full pie already?

Because they're vulnerable people who don't have more than they need. Much less typically. Why would I go for them when there's those taking far more than they need?

Question . . . You must have money in the bank, waiting to eventually be spent on a home purchase. You're also a bright young man, despite being a socialist. Why not put that money to work, hiring a few folks to work for you and provide them with a nice high wage while you're at it?

You flatter me, but you think too much of me. Academic research is... not so lucrative. And getting worse.

Why a billion - that is so arbitrary and way to high. I think it would be more reasonable saying anything over 50% of your net worth should be taxed 100%. Your plaque is in the mail.

I just find the arrogance astounding that anyone could begin to consider what one has earned to be arbitrarily on the chopping block based on individual perspective.... My mother schooled my entire adolescent life to finally become a school teacher. I dropped out of high school and earned more than her after just a few years in business. Is that equitable? Hell no but it is what she chose and her career path made her happy. It is all so absurd. Should an NFL quarterback earn multi-millions and the guy digging lines for my utilities earn minimum wage? It is all so arbitrary and it is certainly nobody's business to pass their own judgment on another mans earnings.

What kinda pie do they have? Mine’s key lime. Is theirs apple, pecan, peanut butter, or how about chocolate? It’s about diversity, innovation, and global commerce. People will purchase goods, services, or hell just invest. How many of the crypto millionaires and billionaires took from you? Soros is a billionaire and the left adores him. How did that take from your zero net?
Obviously you have no idea what is going on with the illegal immigrants and the effects they have on the communities they reside in.

If everyone has a billion dollars, the hard workers and industrious still have food, clothing, shelter and warmth, while the lazy do not. The reason? Because if you give everyone the same amount of something, regardless of whether they work for it or not, it is no longer valued. Those who work will insist on something different as compensation.

You need to stand back and think about this a bit . . .

Think on the thousands of billions of dollars our government has handed out in social benefits over many decades, and how that amount dwarfs the billions you are talking about.

Then think about why things are so expensive . . . Because so many dollars have been printed and given away without the production to justify the existence of those newly issued dollars. Surplus currency and a production deficit . . . That beast has a well-known name.

The billionaire unequivocally does not deprive others of their basic needs.

The refusal of those looking for handouts to "Pull themselves up by their bootstraps" is the very cause of what ails them.

The caveman doesn’t forage for food, and he starves to death. He doesn’t build a shelter, and he dies of exposure. He doesn’t make fire, he freezes to death. Mother Nature seems cruel, but she is winnowing the human race.

Work toward meeting their basic needs? I think you should ask the freeloaders before you dare ask anyone else . . . Billionaire or otherwise.

    Logic Analysis Exercise:

The gentlemen is voted in (wins).

Explain what will then occur and the impact on The People, the City, the State, the U.S., AND The World.

Do so without regard to Political Party beliefs/ideological choice.

Use of a Decision Tree methodology is acceptable, for the members that are familiar with same and the required diagramming parameters.

    I'll wait.....

    Decision tree? Why bother . . . ?

The guy wins local socialist support in a local election.

The exodus of Americans from NYC accelerates.

Socialist influence grows locally, as does support for his cockamamie ideas. Implementation ensues.

The socialist populace votes to rename New York City as New Moscow and they proceed to pollute suburban NY with their ideology.

In a not-so-surprising development, Mandani’s followers pass a referendum to eliminate the office of governor, replacing it with the position of Prime Mini-Brain. Surprisingly, the NY state legislature falls in line. Shortly thereafter, the office is held by none other than Prime Mini-Brain Mandani.

Really feeling their oats, and disappointed that the rest of America just doesn’t get it, NY secedes from the nation, again undergoing a relabeling . . . Wouldn’t you know it? New Russia.

Perceiving a threat from capitalism on all sides, Prime Mini-Brain invades bordering states and Canada with his under-trained, overpaid, NY Notional Guard.

The laughing stock of all except his local supporters, Madani doubles down, committing every man, woman, child, cat, dog and houseplant in New York to the offensive until, like the sun running out of hydrogen, Socialism implodes, and capitalism is spread throughout the universe.

I’ll take my bow now, thank you very much . . .

The response is outside the parameters stated, i.e.:

"Do so without regard to Political Party beliefs/ideological choice".

"..Why bother...' is not a valid response to the proposed Exercise

Absence of the words Democrat or Republican does not alter the parameter, when the words "Socialist/Socialism/capitalism" are included as elements of a response.

I concur to taking a bow, with the caveat that, silently or vocally, the words "Mea culpa" are sincerely uttered.

I was especially proud of the "NY Notional Guard" . . . but thought others might read too fast and completely overlook the "o" replacing the "a".

And this guy is teaching this crap he posts! History has taught him nothing. The reason all the other ways of running a country have not worked is is BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE SYSTEM, IT IS THE WRONG PEOPLE RUNNING IT. LOL, I guess that makes sense - look what Democrats, Commies, and enemies of Capitalism through the ages (especially since Wilson) have done to our Democratic Republic.
