(Nancy Cordes covers the White House for CBS) Nancy Cordes @nancycordes CBS News instapoll: 46% said Romney won. 22% said Obama won. 32% said tie. Decisive win for Romney.
To be fair, I thought Obama did a considerably better job of playing the attack dog in the second debate. He seemed livelier and more focused than he did in the first debate (like he'd had a couple of Red Bulls or something). However, Romney went toe-to-toe against him and more than held his own. Romney went after Obama on the lies the president was saying and I think Romney will increase his poll numbers even more this time around. Overall, I think Obama did better this time around, but Romney also did better.
View attachment 684 Who Won The Debate? (Obama vs. Romney, Round 2) Who won the debate? President Barack Obama got aggressive in facing off against Mitt Romney at Hofstra University in New York on Tuesday night. The performance delivered by Obama marked a sharp departure from what viewers saw from the president at the first presidential debate of the election season just two weeks ago. Will Tuesday night's debate affect the polls or state of the race? Of course, it remains to be seen.Who do you think won the debate between Obama and Romney on Tuesday night? Apparently you either can't read or you are just lying....Or more likely BOTH!! https://twitter.com/nancycordes
More classic Romney lines. These songs just write themselves. Ladies and gentlemen..... Binders full of chicks. http://soundcloud.com/mike-in-raleigh/binders-full-o-chicks
BO was "all jacked up on Mountain Dew" He basically gave the same lame defenses of his failed policies & told the same series of lies, only he was a bit more enthusiastic
Obama is going to have to make up a lot of lost ground.. and quickly if he hopes to win: View attachment 685 http://www.gallup.com/poll/150743/Obama-Romney.aspx
Well the take on the news over here is a win for the President so from the British standpoint it is 1-1
I'm happy to hear everyone here agrees that Obama let loose on Romney. Not enough, IMO, it should be done more and with even more ferocity. And Candy could have used an air horn or spray bottle to reign them both in. My son suggested shock collars. I agree.
Yes, he talked about terrorism. Just not terrorism in Benghazi. As I have posted earlier, even Candy Crowley she was wrong and Romney was correct.
"No acts of terrorism will ever shake the resolve of this country..." Do you think he was talking about any random act of terrorism or do you think he may have been referring to this act? My guess is that you'll parse the words in the most partisan way possible to achieve your sadly pathetic political agenda and never see that you and Romney are using the deaths of good Americans for purely political point gains. Let us remember Romney's statements the day these Americans were under attack. Even while these people were fighting to survive a terrible attack, Romney was out using this incident for political gain on the anniversary of 9/11 no less. THAT is the only reason that the RW'ers like you harp on Obama for not immediately concluding that this may have been a planned attack even before all the facts were known. Romney has used these deaths as political fodder since the moment they were happening and hasn't let up yet in spite of 2 of the relatives of the victims asking him to stop. Some standard bearer you have there. YUCK! You're all pathetic and un-American.
Funny, it really sounds like she is not backing off her statement but if Paul Ryan says she is, well then...
I couldn't care less if Obama referred to the attack in Benghazi as a "terror attack" (which, by the way, he didn't), a "protest" or a "Sunday picnic". What matters most is that proper security wasn't provided to the consulate, Hillary Clinton is responsible (according to her - although Obama is ULTIMATELY responsible) and there are four dead Americans due to the lack of diligence by our leaders in the White House and the State Department. It makes me sick that the Democrats are spinning this entire affair and using the death of four Americans for political gain. Just sickening! And, yes, Candy Crowley DID back off her statement and admitted that Romney was right...
To paraphrase James 'Skeletor' Carville...Isn't it the economy, stupid? In the @CBSNews Instant Poll, 65% say Romney won on the issue of the economy. 34% say Obama won on the economy.
Honestly, I wouldn't give a crap if he hadn't. This whole controversy is utter Republican bs. To turn a tragedy into an election year issue...and convince people to jump on the idiot-bandwagon...is unseemly at best. At worst it's just plain old evil, something these strategist of theirs excel at. IMO, the Democrats should slam the hell out of the Republicans for continuing with this idiotic nonsense. They have, but the Republicans have only focused on the issue even more, knowing that the American public is easily manipulated and have already begun to believe the bs. Slam 'em hard, and keep slamming the losers, all the way to the election.
