RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Barack Obama, caught up in the fervor of a campaign speech Tuesday, drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 had died. The death toll was 12.

"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died—an entire town destroyed," the Democratic presidential candidate said in a speech to 500 people packed into a sweltering Richmond art studio for a fundraiser.

Yeah, he made this awful verbal gaffe and he is still 10 times better than anything the Republicans have put up for 2008. Oh sorry, I meant 10,000 times better.

Where is your story about our current commander-in-chief saying the queen of England helped us celebrate in 1776? It doesn't bother you he doesn't even know the date? You seem to be willing to accept the verbal gaffes of someone as stupid as George Bush but I guess the standard is higher for someone as smart as Barak Obama. When are you going to stop posting non-stories with a smirk and a grin as if your opinions are reinforced by association. It seems sort of desperate and sad.

An error in date is equivalent to a spelling mistake. An error in lives lost is something quite different...

Fox News was criticized for outing Obama as a smoker, now look at what some anti-Obama Democrats are doing to Hillary’s political rival now. They are playing the Muslim phobia card. The gloves are off: Hillary Clinton is reported to be already digging up the dirt on Barack Hussein Obama.

The New York senator has reportedly outed Obama's madrassa past. That's right, the Clinton team is reported to have pulled out all the stops to reveal something Obama would rather you didn't know: that he was educated in a Muslim madrassa.

The press secretary to U.S. Senator Barack Obama said in a statement about this story: "The idea that Senator Barack Obama attended some radical Islamic school is completely ludicrous. Senator Obama is a committed Christian and attends the United Church of Christ in Chicago."

Rudy and Hillary are the NWO choices at the present time. It seems likely that this will be the "choice" they present to the American people although some other candidates are no doubt still trying to cut deals. I suspect that eventually Barack will be told that it isn't his turn yet.

That's all neat, but the thread is about B. Hussein Obama's tragic slip of the tongue... Which IMO didn't endear him to any families affected by the storm, but as I'm sure his campaign managers informed him that Kansas is a very sparsely populated and never a factor or a swing state as is MUCH of the Great Plains...

 

I guess the Bush years have made me immune to slips of the tongue. Everyone who speaks long enough without notes of a teleprompter will eventually make a mistake as their mind races ahead of their mouth.

I agree, Dubya has made his share, but some are more damaging than others. And what B Hussein Obama said, well there is no excuse in my book...

 

I would vote for Ron Paul if he made the cut...he wont...so I have no idea who I will vote for, they all seem so...crappy...I might have to choose the best of all the evils and take an extra shower right after voting to try and clean off the dirty feeling I get...It surely is a terrible bunch on both sides...

It was a big mistake for it implys that thousands have died and the government is not letting the truth out.
or it implies subconsiously that thousands die in the united states for something is wrong, or it implies that he wanted to rouse up his followers or it implies that we may have another idiot that is running for president.

or he just made a simple mistake after thousand of hours of speaking over the past few years.

 

I know that the idea of a black man in office worries you great ly, but let me remind you that Bush is by far the worst president at these sort of things:

No one in Bush's audience of military brass or Pentagon chiefs reacted.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Bush's misstatement "just shows even the most straightforward and plain-spoken people misspeak."

I don't think it "implies" anything other than he made a stupid mistake, which all of us humans have done before.

I'll never forget a speech Bush gave a few days after hurricane Katrina. He said somethin along the lines of "If you want to help the people of New Orleans, don't volunteer, don't donate supplies. SEND CASH"
WTF?

 

Sean Hannity was a riot last night. He criticized Obama for his error in claiming that 10,000 died in the "hurricanes" without seeming to notice that he committed the same sort of verbal error by confusing hurricanes with tornados. What a fraud!

 

I don't see how you can watch or listen to that program. Too far in either direction is tooooo farrrr, LOL...
