The BBC profiled six people at a rally in Cleveland... Why Cleveland? lol http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15223695
More insight into the rally in Cleveland: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15208209 Some selected quotes from the article above: Union official Al Mixon told the crowd, "I'm not anti the Obama administration. They're putting road blocks in front of what he wants to do." One woman carried a sign announcing "If I had a job, I would not be here". "The middle class of this country was built off of what has been demonised now as a 'public employee,'" said Mr Parish, 52. "If it was not for public employees in those positions - teachers, firefighters, police officers, EMS workers - we would be in a third-world country." And finally, a commentary from the article: Many of the protesters on Thursday said they had voted for President Barack Obama in 2008, but had become disillusioned by his inability to breach "political roadblocks" set up by the Republican party.
Too bad the message these folks are trying to get out has been usurped by the left wing fringe. My guess would be these people aren't part of the mob discarding their condoms, trash & needles on the sidewalk or taking dumps on police cars.
They show spunk, but lack vision...I'd glue the American flag to the cop car... then take a dump on it.
Roadblocks? Wonder if they missed Mitch McConnell demanding a vote on BO's jobs "Act"? Maybe they were just confused? Afterall, all you hear in the media is how Repubs are blocking the "Act" when in fact it's Harry Reid putting it off because he can't garner the support of his fellow dims to get it passed.
I wonder if you've missed the Cons blocking every piece of legislation in the last 42 months? Of course you have, that is how selective memory works.
They aren't blocking the Jobs "Act" though, are they? In fact they are trying to get it up for an immediate vote, just the way BO designed & demanded it! Right? And isn't some action on "jobs" what alot of this is all about? Now what?
Well, as a matter of fact they are blocking it in two distinct ways. The first way is by trying to bring it to a vote before it is debated and before the Dems have had a chance to put together enough votes (this is hardly an act that is showing support for the bill but you know that), and the Cons have already united against it unanimously and it will not receive one Con vote. I'd say that IS pretty much blocking the bill start to finish but if you want to pretend that the political games being played don’t exist, it really just paints you as completely ignorant of the subject or simply extends the stupidity of the games your idiotic party leaders are playing with a very serious issue. Either way you come off as incapable of seeing the situation for what it really is because you are as blindly partisan they come.
So, let me get this straight....the bill that BO has deemed vital to the country, the bill on which he worked months to perfect, the bill he has criss-crossed the country trumpeting, isn't good enough for the dims to vote on yet? Sounds like some odd reasoning to me. But, hey, whatever gets you through the night, right?
He was inaugurated as president not king. He doesn't get everything he wants as much as you and I want him to. Do you have something against this bill because you've never really voiced it if you do. What are your specific complaints about it?
Now I know this Occupy Wall Street Protest is official. Hugo Chavez is supporting the protesters. I wonder if that includes financially.
The only complaint I have is the Dims refusal to take action. I want it presented for an up or down vote as quickly as possible...just like BO & the republican leadership.
I doubt the original Occupy protesters would have the support of any of the far left whackos but now the Flea Party folks? That's a whole other story....Chavez, Soros, the unions, Roseanne Barr, et al have come out to rally the radicals.
Here's a 1%-er they should be protesting: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/oct/10/pelosis-disclosure-belated-in-husbands-land-deal/
I'd say coming up with the bill IS action. After a year, the Cons have come up with how many bills? So you don't object to any part of the bill. You like it just the way it is and want it passed into law as quickly as possible. Your only complaint is that it isn't happening fast enough for you? Right? You said your ONLY complaint is the lack of action. Call your congressman and tell him/her to pass it faster. Complaining to me isn't going to get it done.
Harry Reid & the dims didn't come up with the bill, though, did they? They are in fact the "roadblock" keeping BO's Jobs "Act" from becoming law.
