Has any other members feel this way? You try to have a discussion with a progressive, liberal, or ignorant person and it does not happen. It would be like I imagine playing a chess game with a Primate would go. You make the first move - King's Pawn to King's four. Then the chimp picks up his Knight and bites off its head. It's very frustrating to watch the chimp jump up and down with excitement. I will say one thing in favor of dealing with the Chimp. At least the monkey engages.
It’s because there isn’t a discussion. We are pre-judged simply for being conservative. Flying the flag, respecting our elders, fearing God, working hard to make something of ourselves are all prerequisite to being uninformed bigots… Or worse. So a genuine discussion rapidly devolves into useless name calling. It truly is maddening…… I am out at the ballfield and had a headline go across my screen about POTUS invoking some federal mandate decriminalizing weed or something. I’m at the ballfield and would rather watch the kids than hunt down political nonsense. Frankly, I could give a hoot if they want to legalize the stuff and turn the rest of our nation into lazy unmotivated humans…. But I have never in my life seen such a blatant attempt at whoring out young people for votes. And this is what our leaders are focused on… Really???? But watch how I will be attacked for being such an out of touch boomer. They have no earthly idea how truly in touch I am. But it just ain’t worth the battle. They won. They tear down all we held sacred. Our voice has become meaningless.
You could call it that, but it does have real impact and could also be seen as finally delivering on some campaign promises. Of course the timing is cynical, but at least it's happening.
Yes, it's a good move. If I were a recreational doper or full time debt riddled college educated addict, I'd love the idea. Why not, over 60% of the people working in government on the Hill from Senators on down are dopers. Don't ask. Any person this affects will vote for decriminalization of dope and forgiveness of personal debt.
Maybe MD . . . just maybe our voice has become meaningless, but our message won't . . . it is timeless. It only takes time to exhaust the resources upon which those slackers presently rely . . . the majority of those whose weight is carried by today's taxpayers need only wait, unaware that once the golden goose it dead, it will be their turn to host the next parasitic generation . . . and so their vision goes.
