I love the Right wing lunatic fringe's characterization of teachers, police, and fireman, as "special interests". A bill that is paid for by cutting food stamps and corporate loopholes is unacceptable but giving millionaires another unpaid for gift that increases the debt by close to a trillion dollars is just fine. You gotta love their priorities!

Obama said that this $26 billion bailout will not add one penny to the deficit. And it is supposed to be paid for in part by $12 billion dollars taken from the food stamp program in 2014. Now, does anybody believe that that's actually going to happen? The food stamp program, nor is any other federal program going to have $12 billion taken from it to pay for this. This is nothing more than keeping unions employed. This is not even bailing states out. This is about state and local union jobs, not private sector jobs. Are you gonna pay off your debts with money you earn or don't spend in 2014?

How much money is unspent from the original Porkulus bill? This is nothing more than another slush fund, and it's a slush fund that is aimed at local and state union workers, keeping them employed. It's not about your kids or your kids' education. If it were about your kids and your kids' education they'd shut down half the public schools in the country. If it were about your kids and your kids' education they would not have shut down the voucher program in Washington, DC, that was letting minority kids and urban kids go to the private schools that Obama sends his kids to and the Clintons sent their kid to and Algores sent their kid to. It's not about the kids. It's not about education. It's not about anything other than keeping government employees, be they state, local, or federal, employed, plain and simple.

You have highly selective Federal spending concerns if not outright partisan. You choose to see one party's spending while ignoring the other party's fiscal priorities. How do you manage all of the cognitive dissonance that would bother a thinking person?

Not selective at all. I don’t care who you are. I say stop the spending. I turned against Bush and the repubs when they started the reckless spending. So how do you manage the fact that your children and their children will have to pay for this congress’s drunken sailor mentality?

Who needs cops and firefighters in a land of no crime or fires?

They're socialist positions anyway. UNTIL you need them.

Really, so who was it that signed the TARP bailout of Wall Street into law? A "big Lib Bailout" is a joke right? Republicans wrecked the economy on purpose so that when they lost power, the Democrats couldn't enact any legislation during their term. How'd that plan work out? I say damn the phony rhetoric and make the upper 2% bail out this country for a change. BTW My children are already wealthy.

    The Republican mind-set on spending:
When their guy gets in and spends like crazy, they say nothing the whole time.
They voted for him and no matter what he does, they'll vote for the next Republican regardless of what the last one did.
After they are kicked from office, they all claim that they were upset about all the spending their guy did but it was because he was really a liberal.
Then a Democrat is elected and ANY legislation that is put forth is criticized by Republicans as too expensive. They didn't vote for him because liberals are big spenders regardless of what they just witnessed from their own candidate. Now is the time to suddenly rein in spending. Now they are clamoring to get another Republican elected so he can spend, spend, spend, and when he does, they will simply label him a liberal even though no liberals support him.
If only I had been blessed with no long-term memory I could have been a Republican too.

I'm just so sorry for what your guy did to this country but I didn't vote for him in the first place. I knew he sucked right from the start but it took you 8 years to come to that conclusion. So if we were keeping score, that would be me = 1, and You = 0. This time around, my guy won. I was right about the last guy, you were wrong, so I just might have a little more credibility picking candidates. But once again, you think your right about the guy in office but as we all know, your track record ain't all that good. The only thing you've managed so far is to vote for the wrong guy and they label him as a liberal. Just a clue, Al Gore and John Kerry were the liberal when your guy won. Try and keep your mental acrobatics this side of reality.

As with any of your arguments, you can virtually substitute "republican" with "democrat" (and vice versa) and you'll usually always be correct.

Keep that in mind when you make some of your arguments about Democrats.

I really don't make a lot of Rep vs Dem arguments. Mine are anti-Lib arguments.

Yeah that goes for me too. It's a right wing corporate elitist kind of thing. Anti-right wing wacko arguments.

Do me a favor- please don't ever agree with me. Your arguments are anti-success, anti-innovation, anti-everything, except when it pertains to a wacky, far left agenda.

This is one 'stimulus' that I actually tend to agree with. Beats the hell out of the last one.

The problem is not that the government should not provide any support or money for various services (like education, police, fire, etc). The problem is that people are being led to believe that we can provide support and money for everything (the previous stimulus and the health-care bill and the 2 wars and on and on...).
