He's too much of a hypocrite to answer but I have found that simply asking the question makes him disappear for a while.

No one "runs off" from conversations with you Dave, they tire of your complete lack of intelligence and leave out of boredom and exasperation.
Has he answered yet, David? If not, I see severals reasons why: 1. He doesn't really own a company. 2. His employees are unionized, but he pays them below what he should. 3. His employees are not unionized and he's taking advantage of them by paying them a low wage. 4. He's clueless and doesn't know whether his employees are unionized or not. 5. He's a coward. These are, of course, only a few of the many reasons why he may not answer.
My guess would be his employees are not unionized....in typical liberal elitist fashion, every worker should be unioned with the exception of his workers. The unions probably wouldn't accept his wage structure once they found out it was based on what he thought was enough.
