Rand Paul on Civil Rights · Illegal to impose racial segregation in the private sector. (May 2010) · Opposes same-sex marriage. (Nov 2009) · Opposes affirmative action. (Aug 2010) · Supports Amendment to prevent same sex marriage. (Aug 2010)
Asked if he thought a private business had the right to say it would not serve black people, he said: "I don't want to be associated with those people, but I also don't want to limit their speech in any way in the sense that we tolerate boorish and uncivilized behavior because that's one of the things freedom requires." and "I support the Civil Rights Act because I overwhelmingly agree with the intent of the legislation, which was to stop discrimination in the public sphere and halt the abhorrent practice of segregation," he said. The man is entitled to his opinion. Barack Obama held the same view, but I don't recall you chastising him for it. Affirmative Action isn't the panacea it was intended to be. See: http://inamerica.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/10/5-things-to-know-about-affirmative-action/ See above. Now, how do you feel about Paul's remarks regarding Democrats, not Republicans, being behind racism and Jim Crow? Agree or disagree?
More daisy picking through a mine field, I see. I find it amusing at how they try to turn the tables to make their own action appear ok. Republicans accused of racism for the past 100 years...well, by golly, that one Democrat was racist, remember? If they spent this much time working on solving THEIR issues, maybe they'd have a chance at salvaging what was left of their party.
You don't agree that the Democrats were behind racism and Jim Crow? Hahhhaa! Before you go accusing someone of "being full of crap", you'd best look in a mirror.
