Reality Check FROM Americans

The smart people paid their mortgages or their credit card debts. But a lot of people I know of, they took their stimulus cheques and bought important things like Nintendo Wii and Playstation etc. The one that did that is teetering on chapter 13 right now.

 

Mine went to mortage. I try to keep ahead of that and utililities.
I have no credit card debt.

 

I hate to admit, but ours went to savings.

 

Ours went to living room furniture.

 

Well I have to say that the stimulus cheques did help to boost the US economy which I believe was the reasoning behind them, So again we had the Goverment lending a helping hand at possibly the right time, the same with the current forclosure situation. The one thing I am suprised at here though is that David is not up in arms at all this help from your Goverment oh but I forget this is a republican President LOL (Sorry but I coudnt help that after having some of my earlier posts called dense )

 

Well, since D'orc has called me out, I will repeat my opinion on the subject (D'orc, your main problem is arguing right past a point and not truly comprehending the point a poster is trying to make...stay focused!!).

I am an outspoken critic of our current system of taxation as many of you know (and before D'orc takes this & runs with it, I do not believe that the US is an evil place simply because I happen not to agree with the current policy..I am exercising my right to Free Speech). The fact that the government would even come up with a "stimulus" check program is proof to me that the powers that be realize the tax system is unfair. I gladly accepted my check, cashed it and used it as spending money for vacation (rather than using the cash we had set aside in a seperate savings account). I would have preferred a reduction in the tax rate or additional tax credit for next years filing...or at least an option!! I do think it was crazy that people who didn't pay any taxes were able to get a check. If rebates were going to be given, they should have been given based on what was paid in originally!! I also believe it was a gimmick to calm the people down & for both sides to buy a little time at a moment when both parties were frozen like deer in headlights over current economic conditions.

 

Now lets see where did I say you said it was evil or that the USA was evil, Um no I didnt LOL I realy think you need to concentrate on what you are reading David and not decide that the writer is saying something he never has LOL
