And 40 Republican Senators vote for Paul Ryan's "Kill Medicare" bill. Is this really a starting point or is this the final goal for the Right wing.

The fact of the matter is Medicare is going broke, regardless of how strong Harry Reid claims it is. We can sit back & do nothing about it as the libs would advocate (and fall further & further into the abyss) or we can address it. Ryan's budget keeps Medicare unaffected for a generation. Those of us under 55 have plenty of time to adjust & prepare....maybe this way something will be there for us because at the current rate there will be nothing for future generations except the massive debt.

 

No, a czar's powers are limited. An EFM has the power to fire elected officials and take over all aspects of their former jobs.

An EFM, on a Federal level (so far only on a state level), could fire all governors (and their state's senators & representatives) and hire his own staff to do their duties. They'd all report to him, he'd report to the president. It's happening right now (on a state level) in Michigan. I doubt anyone wants to make Obama a dictator though lol... (thinks for a second) ...then again...(laughs)

See, here is a case where you've simply bought into the latest Republican lie. It is not a fact that Medicare is going broke. Medicare will start paying out more than it is taking in in like 10 or 20 years depending on who you believe IF, and that is a big IF, there are no adjustments made to the program. The problem is that Republicans have pounced on this issue not to fix Medicare but to kill Medicare, a program they have fought against from its inception. Republicans are being disingenuous again in order to drive their war on the middle class. Like 80% of the people want to keep Medicare as the Democrats are willing to do and they do not want to give more tax breaks to the wealthy and turn Medicare into a coupon program which is exactly what the Republican's plan does. Be careful when you call something a "fact" when in reality it is merely a Right wing talking point.
