They are taking the fight to them, in their backyard, so the chances of islamic terrorists attacking us in our backyeard are greatly diminished. As I think back to that day and days like... ...the attack on the USS Cole ...the attack on the Marine Barracks in Lebanon ...the day 69 year old Leon Klinghoffer (bound to a wheel chair) was thrown overboard the Achille Laurel ...the hijacking of the plane that blew up over Lockereby Scottland ...the 1972 Munich Olympic games ...the FIRST attack of the World Trade Center in the early 90's... ...the London Subway bombings I could go on, the point is that the "religion of peace" has no intention of welcoming or respecting those that don't want to make a trip to Mecca or change their name to Mohammad. "Religion of Peace"?? I don't buy it especially when many clerics have even supported these actions!! "Religion of Peace"...I ask for PROOF! Never under estimate their devotion to their god and their intention to kill us. After all, coin collecting and a free market economy will mean nothing if we don't put our enemies in their place. I lost some friends at the Trade Towers. Used to live down the block from it as well. Shame the media did not show the face of the dead from it. The people who jumped out on fire. The people who made the choice to jump out holding hands to their death rather then burn to death. The firemen who ran in knowing that they were most likely not to come out but in their minds what choice did they have. People inside needed help. I remember the first Trade Tower bombing and information was ignored. I remember the Empire State Building shootings and excuses were made. I remember the School Bus shootings on the Brooklyn Bridge and excuses were made. I remember the Sudanese diplomats at the UN being expelled for they were planning on blowing up the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels during rush hour. I remember the poison gas factory that was uncovered and the plan by the "middle easterners" to release it in the subways. I remember the priest killings in Brooklyn when various neighborhoods went Islamic. I remember lots of stuff and most of it was reported briefly and excused. All I know is everytime a Muslim kills a Christian or Jew I hear how Islam is a religion of peace/love. Go figure.
It was a national tragedy, to be certain. I remember not being able to move when I first saw it on television, and as I watched in realtime the second plane hitting the towers; when I saw the plane hit the Pentagon; when I watched the President stand speechless in front of a classroom of schoolchildren; when I watched the evacuation of the White House and Capitol; when Flight 93 crashed into the Pennsylvania ground; when the Towers buckled; and when Americans became ignorant of the fact that Islam is not evil, and nor are Muslims. Our country needs to recognize who the real perpetrators of these auspicious, deadly, destructive, horrific, violent, and terrifying attcks on our peace, security, and overall, our country and fellow citizens, especially those brave and courageous men and women serving our great nation overseas to root out terrorism. Fundamentally, it is Radical Islamic Extremists who perpetrate these crimes against our state. I refuse to allow other Americans to slander my Islamic friends based on their faith and call them terrorists because they are from the Middle East. Were and are 9/11 and the subsequent conflicts horrible and meloncholy expressions of scare tactics by radicals that shook our nation to the point that all of us, myself certainly included, will never forget that fateful day? There is no doubt. But my Islamic friends did not do it, and they were just as horrified as any American was on the morning of 9/11/2001 when we were brutally attacked. So I beg of you all to recognize and see who the real perpetrators are, and not racially and ethnically and religiously slur those who are our kinsmen and women with no part in these events. ~Andrew M. in Arizona

I remember just when we got out of the second period on the first day back at school in university, tons of people gathered at this stairwell lobby around this TV the AV department had rolled out from storage watching the live coverage of the already collapsed WTC. While I was watching I was waiting for the smoke to kinda clear away but then I realised the towers were actually missing. Couldn't believe my eyes as I was just there on the top outdoor observation deck just 5 months prior as a tourist. I now have this oval rolled penny with the WTC design that I made with one of those machines on top of the tower that I've recently discovered is selling at 50$ a design on eBay. I didn't even think any of it when i made the little charm as I just thought it was kinda fun. My friend who were visiting with me made the generic "I LOVE YOU" design instead. In hindsight after 9/11, he was pounding himself on the head for not making a more representative gift for his gf. Such pity, I always wanted to visit the WTC again after my visit. On the other hand I have postcards as well as so many photos I took of the buildings as well as from on top of the building. These memobilias are now priceless to me and will not be sold. Is there an official USPS first day cover for the 9/11 semi-postal? (Sorry to digress... but the other thread regarding 9/11 stamp is now closed.) I'm not too familiar with the USPS system and issues. It seems the many 9/11 covers are custom made from what I've seen online. Looks like these collectors designed their cover, affixed the stamp and have it cancelled. I'm trying to find an official cover if there is such a thing. Thanks,
A DAY THAT EVERY AMERICAN WILL NEVER FORGET!! Not EVIL??? Tell that to the victims of the National tragedy you speak of. If they could speak, they may have a different opinion. I must really be ignorant, I didn't realize that the terrorists were actually from another religion. All this time I have been thinking they were Muslim. Must have been their constant references to Islam and Allah that threw me. These terrorists may not represent the entire beliefs of a few Muslims (as we have heard hundreds of times so far) but they ARE indeed Muslims!! They do indeed consider this a "holy war" and ARE killing Americans in the name of ISLAM and ALLAH and want the world to know that! Mix 50 good muslims in with 50 bad Muslims and line them up. The person that can successfuly show me the good from the bad can then call me ignorant and tell me who I can and can't trust. Until then I know what religion these death-loving terrorists practice and I know that they consider me their enemy. They aren't Christians. They aren't Jewish. We know who they are, they refresh our memories quite often!!
Maybe you didn't see this, I actually agreed with you on this one. Can't deny this one! If you don't like being debated then maybe you should have edited this statement. What I read was yet another of your "ignorant" references to Americans and praise for Islam and Muslims. How do you expect people to react to such a statement? I didn't see the words "some" or "not all" in your statement which I could accept as truth. Why is it so hard for some people to accept the fact that these terrorists are Muslims and are so fast to post personal attacks on anyone that says so??? I don't see anywhere in my post that I said ALL Muslims are terrorists. I just want proof that you can tell the difference between good and bad by physical appearance, then I will change my feelings, then I will indeed know who is a friend and who is an enemy. Think how many lives would be saved if it were that easy. I could get into a heated debate with you but I don't wish to drag on arguments which you seem to thrive on doing with everyone.
