You would have to define, "controlled as tightly as" before anyone could answer that question. But, industries that are regulated by the Federal Government that come to mind are, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, defense, financials, mining, sports, transportation, energy, advertising, telecommunications, etc. Need I go on? How is health insurance any more or less regulated than any of these other industries? Remember, we are not talking about health care provides as much as we are talking about health insurers here. I love Obamacare and apparently so do 58% of Americans or they want even more liberal reforms.

Not really sure which of the industries produces a product that I'm required to purchase (or face an IRS penalty)...the gov't doesn't tell me I have to buy a certain car, use a certain medication or follow certain farming techniques but the gov't will now require I purchase a particular insurance product or run the risk of violating federal law. See the difference?

I don't know about the rest of you but I pay less than half that, including dental & vision, for an excellent plan.

 

Now that is a different point entirely isn't it? You don't even attempt to come up with an answer as to how you define "controlled as tightly as" you just move on to another point without ever providing any substance to your initial point. Don't try to make points you can't defend. Changing your point midstream is just lazy debating. If that is all you have, I will move on to someone who can actually competently defend what they post. I can go either way.

C'mon, don't run...show us how all those other industries you mentioned are as tightly controlled by the gov't as healthcare will be. Show us any other example of a product we have to buy (that has to fit some pretty exact gov't templates) or risk the imposition of IRS fines.

 

Maybe, but I don't think so. It's a tough call, for sure. I mean, their bs can't be allowed to go unchallenged, because what they say is dangerous to society.

So no, I choose to ignore them because I have to, otherwise I would listen to their complaints as I kept tearing their bs to shreds, but others shouldn't.

**In other news...Under Obamacare, the cost to families will skyrocket, the "pre-existing condition" coverage isn't exactly what was promised & the guarantee you could keep your current doctor has faded away...but, hey, at least our health will be managed as fairly as the IRS chooses & as efficiently as the US Postal Service!!
