Romney "Enjoys" Firing People - How Special!

This guy would trip over his own ass if he turned around too fast. And he is going to go toe-to-toe with Obama? I don't think so. He can't go more than a few days without saying something stupid and senseless.

NASHUA, N.H. — Republican front-runner Mitt Romney stumbled down the homestretch of the New Hampshire primary on Monday, declaring, "I like being able to fire people who provide services to me" as his rivals intensified already fierce criticism.
"Gov. Romney enjoys firing people. I enjoy creating jobs," said former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who has staked his candidacy on a strong showing in Tuesday's primary and has shown signs of gaining ground in recent polls.
Adding insult to any injury, Texas Gov. Rick Perry posted a ringtone to his campaign website that consisted of Romney saying, "I like being able to fire people," over and over.
Romney is the odds-on favorite in New Hampshire, and Huntsman as well as other Republicans who are contesting the state have generally been content to vie for second place in hopes of emerging as his main rival in the South Carolina primary on Jan. 21.

What is wrong with liking the freedom to let people go if they are not performing to your satisfaction? We can all see how well tenure serves the educational system.

 

Having been in a mgmt position, I can assure you no one enjoys firing people and no successful mgr is going to fire people for sport. I think this issue with Romney is just a lame attempt to smear him.

 

Part of the reason the capitalism works is because it can rid itself of the dead wood (or change it) and become more productive. Without that self capability, you have someone with alternative motives (political?) deciding which company/business should succeed. How is Solyndra working for you? How about Fisker?

 

He did actually say that he likes to fire people who do not provide a good service such as Insurers and I believe it was taken out of context

I know exactly the context and what Romney actually meant. Why should I care if the party that routinely uses quotes out of context to slander people gets slandered by the same tactic? Seems like they sort of deserve it. By the way, all of his fellow Cons are doing exactly the same thing. Heck, Perry is using Romney's words as his ringtone. So I guess all I can say is live by the sword, die by the sword.
