This is what got Judge Napolitano fired from Fox News. I see truth in most of what he's saying here, and probably the biggest point I disagree is that I don't believe Ron Paul is the savior. Maybe I'm too cynical, but I'm sick and tired of us being in wars all over the Middle East, it's not helping anyone nor is it making us safe. I'm sick and tired of the government being out of control, and I'm convinced that it's what is killing our economy.
"Freedom Watch" is being cancelled, but Napolitano will continue on Fox Business and Fox News. I agree with a lot of what he says. But, as an aside, a better title for this thread would be to change the word DEMOCRACY to DEMOCRATS.
As an aside, you do realize that he is talking about the same plot the character "Julia" represented in Orwell's 1984? She believed that she was rebelling against the powers that be, Big Brother, by secretly being promiscuous but Big Brother, without letting on, was happy to have people rebel in harmless ways because it simply reinforced the status quo. If you have never read this book or are not well-read in general, you have no idea what I’m talking about anyway. The Ronbots are Julia in this instance. Making no difference while thinking that they are actually rebelling.
Not my opinion, Reuters opinion. They watch, I don't. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/17/us-newscorp-foxbusiness-idUSTRE79G7BJ20111017
Do you think that the other news networks are any different. Tell me. When was the last time you saw anything negative about Saudi Arabia on any network.
There's really nothing that can be done about our political system, and government in general... they are too entrenched. The government (Executive, Legislative, & Judicial Branches) are too vast and powerful to replace, assuming you'd even get a better government out of the replacements, and you wouldn't. Not that you even could replace them either... they control the armed forces and the police, who serve to protect the government. What you can do is limit the number of corrupt politicians by not voting for them if they are corrupt. Good luck with that, since most people have no idea how to spot a corrupt person... when they even bother to look. Instead, most people ignore the idea of corruption in their chosen politician and vote for him/her. So, we're stuck with a corrupt government... they are not going anywhere and there's nothing else that can be done legally. The illegal way is to rebel and overthrow the government... like what they've done in many other countries recently... but I seriously doubt more than an insignificant minority of Americans would go that route. We have it rather good in this country compared to the countries that have seen rebellions against their governments. And again, the replacements are almost certainly going to be just as corrupt, which, with the added negative effects that a mass rebellion brings, would be worse than the status quo. As long as the majority of Americans have the basic necessities taken care of (food, shelter, clothing, health) Americans will be content to let the corrupt reign. As long as the government doesn't go on a mass killing spree of it's own citizens ...like some governments have in their countries... Americans won't rebel. Just my opinion.
On a related note, I go back and forth between different news channels to gauge their bs. As an example: On CNN the typical Syrian news story focuses on how bad the government there is, and is promoting the idea of regime change there. On RT (Russian), the story is about how bad the West is for meddling in Syrian affairs, and how bad the rebels in Syria are. So yeah, I'd say each network is the same in that they all promote certain viewpoints... but the viewpoints themselves are going to be different.
Remember, when BO was running for prez the first time, his campaign was compared to an episode of Cheers where Woody was advised that by repeating the same thing over & over the people would buy into it? Hope & Change? Ah, good times.
The House of Saud wants the present government of Syria out for many reasons but the prime reason is that this is a sunni vs shia thing which is why the news media in this nation is for the rebels. A few years back I posted the major stock holders of the media and they were for the most part Saudi and other sunni gulf nations princes either in private holdings or within small investment group.
"If you tell a lie long and loud enough, people will eventually start to believe it" Here is another Socialst quote. Joseph Paul Goebbelss: As socialists, we are opponents of the Jews, because we see, in the Hebrews, the incarnation of capitalism"
I really wouldn't get too hung up on past campaign slogans. And even though you haven't noticed, there have been plenty of changes since Obama has taken office. After all, what else could have made the RW'ers so angry? The RW’s new slogan for 2012 should be, “Let’s go back to the policies of the Bush Administration”. At least that would be honest of them.
Wow! Andy Breitbart. I thought that was you but until you bastardized a quote to make it say something different, I wasn't sure. Here is Goebbels entire quote: Joseph Paul Goebbelss: As socialists, we are opponents of the Jews, because we see, in the Hebrews, the incarnation of capitalism, of the misuse of the nation’s goods.
Well, duh!! That's why so many are working so hard to make sure he won't have another 4 yrs to make even more "changes"....I don't think we could neither afford nor tolerate more of his "changes".
I guess you wanted to make sure, as fellow socialist & anti-capitalist, we got that quote from Goebbels exactly right, huh?
