Surprised?

A majority of Republicans and independents would stay and fight were Russia to invade the United States while a majority of Democrats say they would flee, according to a new Quinnipiac poll.

This headline crossed my screen this morning and speaks volumes to the state of moral fiber in our nation today. Sadly, it deeply troubles me, however I am not really surprised.

I agree with Democrats on many things...including this: We can create anything we can imagine!

However, I take it a step further and ask the question: Should we create anything we can imagine?

Surprised? Hardly . . . I would have predicted this outcome before the poll was even taken.

I often tell my left leaning friends that when the peanut butter hits the fan, I know they will all show up at my house because I am heavily armed.

All that is pretty accurate... Except the necktie. Never was one that went in for the businessguy look. I prefer to look more like the truck driver. That way insurance salesmen and the like will walk right by me.

Yes, you are just better people than the rest of the country as you often state. We are all so grateful to have you. I guess what you're saying is that you are better Americans than the rest of us...Oh, except for that January 6th thing you are desperately trying to make the rest of us forget ever happened.

We're not forgetting. Ask Ginni Thomas. She'll text you the plans going forward.

No sir... On this forum it is called "self-defense". You won't find a humbler fellow than this old boy.

No, I've heard it often enough to understand that the Right thinks they are better Americans, better Christians, a better race, more patriotic, harder working, better parents, and on and on and on....

This is just one more post along the same self-deluding line of reasoning.

I don't honestly care what you believe about yourselves. I simply watch what you do and judge your worth or lack thereof by your own actions. It has always served me well.

Why does anyone listen to you, much less believe anything you say? You’ve been wrong about everything. And I really mean EVERYTHING!

You were wrong about Trayvon Martin. You were wrong about Hillary. You were wrong about Trump. You were wrong about Merrick Garland. You were wrong about Kyle Rittenhouse. The list goes on….

And you’re even on the side of the pathetic losers who would not fight for our country if Russia attacked us. You are disgusting.

Here is a challenging question: which of the the two Joes is more wrong?

I'd have to guess that, because Joe Biden sleeps most of the day, @JoeNation would inflict more pain upon America if he were president.

Using action as the metric to define one’s character? I will gladly accept that challenge.

I don't mean individuals here obviously since I only have your word for your actions. I mean the actions of your elected officials and the folks that support them. In other words, more public behaviors than chatrooms. The disconnect between what you guys believe and your actions is the biggest takeaway I find. The words simply give cover to the actions that aren't all that covert if you're paying attention. Some don't bother comparing the words to the deeds at their own peril. I prefer to hold them accountable for what they do and pay less attention to their rhetoric. I sometimes think that people like me are their worst nightmare but not because I am everything they are against, but because I see through their delusional beliefs and relentless hypocrisy. Not necessarily bad people but pretty self-delusional. The " We're better than you" attitude gives away the farm every time.

But that’s a testosterone thing. Or better yet, a power trip I believe is how I referred to that in my younger years. And frankly, anyone that seeks higher office but for very few suffer from that and I assure you that it isn’t unique to the right. This display of hierarchy exists in full force in both party’s. If you truly only witness this on display by the right, Joe you need to be more honest with yourself.

I don't see it that way. Everyone has the tendency to see their own choices as superior to other people's choices because we're people that way. But I see an arrogance of party affiliated individuals seeing themselves as a group being superior. Only the Right consistently wraps themselves in the flag, albeit a confederate flag more often than not, and regularly sees God on their side.
