The anti-gay church discussion section.

Here's a section that will raise a few eyebrows.It is about the various anti-gay churches.I have found a few links;

www.anglican-nig.org .This is the official website of the Anglican Church of Nigeria,which has been very prominent in its opposition to the endorsement of 'gay marriages' by the Anglican Church of Canada & the Episcopal Church of the U.S.A.

www.destinychurch.org.nz .This is the official website of the Destiny Church of New Zealand,which has branched into other countries,especially Australia.

Danr,I am a very conservative type who regards homosexuality as being extremely contrary to the teachings of Holy Scripture.The Book of Leviticus says this,"Man shall not lie with mankind as with womankind,for that is an abomination.Whoever does so shall be put to death".The Book of Romans also restates this message,albeit put in another way.

I feel that homosexuality is no more serious than any other sin, including eating shellfish, pork, being near a menstrating woman, getting tattoos or piercings, getting haircuts, wearing clothes made from more than one fabric, and planting two crops in one area, such as many people do in their garden.

 

Aidan there are some really great Biblical scholars (the type who read ancient Hebrew and ancient Greek) who would refute your understanding of the scriptures. You can feel however you want about people but you may be on thin ice bringing scripture into it. There are people who have multiple doctorates in this stuff who would plainly say that you have twisted these scriptures.

 

Aidan, Just out of curiosity, what is the general attitude towards homosexuals in New Zealand. I know that here in America it is mixed, and over in Europe people seem more open to homosexuals. I'm not trying to bait you or anything by the way. I respect people's beliefs towards homosexuality whether they are for or against it, as I understand both points of view, and therefore, am literally impartial to it.

 

O.K. Danr, you have left yourself wide open for this one. Name the person who has multiple doctorates in "this stuff" and also would say "you have twisted the scriptures".

Put your money where your mouth is, so to speak! Either that or shut up with all your garbage.

ah, Phelps... I see this guy and his horde protesting almost every weekend.

It's very sad, really, when they have small children holding signs that preach such strong hatred. It is a strong reminder of how recently we have been removed from being animals.

 

God hates fags is so far out of the mainstream of any serious Christian theology that each and every one of these serious theologians (and all other seroious theologians) would certainly consider their method to be seriously twisted. It is odd that anyone would think otherwise. No I mean REALLY odd. You have their email ask them what they think of God hates fags. The very idea that they would endorse that flat out wrong theology is perposterous.

 

Whooooo there Danr, you'r putting words into someone's mouth that just hasn't been said. You show me where in any of these posts, in this thread, that the statement 'God hates fags' was said! You can't do it can you? Why? Because it wasn't said, and you are making mountains out of mole hills. Just one of your "loose liberal methods of always telling the truth" I would guesss.

My suggestion for this is to at least read and think before your next post, and remember to not let your mind wander -- it's too little to be let out alone.:kewl:

 

ummmm... the topic is posting anti-gay churches. The first link is 'godhatesfags', and I can tell you that THAT is exactly what the WBC stands for - literally. That is their only message, and they spread it as much as they can.

 

God loves all his creations, great and small, the bible teaches this. If you believe that gays should be put to death, then you should believe that you must follow all the laws outlined in leviticus, as there is no mention of homosexuality directly in the new testament. I studied the scripture for hours a day, literally for about 10 years.

 

The entire post (sorry I mean thread) is based on those anti gay sites. Read the first post

 

Somehow I rather believe that a lot of the people going around condemning people to hell will end up there themselves. Something about a lot of these hypocritital "ist" religions that gets to me is that they spend so much time pointing the finger at those they perceive are living in sin that they fail to see that they in fact are probably commiting a worse sin by bearing false witness against their neighbours.

There will be rude shock at the second coming for a lot of people, that believe they are "saved" but rather are condemned, not by their maker, but by themselves.
