That is so sad. As I understand it 14 is also the legal age for a child to have sex with an adult in Russia. I could care less if a women in her 20's who is not a drug addict or pimped out wanted to sell her body but children.
Children need to be protected worldwide and it is a shame that protecting children worldwide is not a "real issue" that is address by the UN, European Union, Big Eight, United States, etc....
yeah I hear a speech or two once in awhile, but real action with billions of dollars and UN police troops as well as interpol needs to be in play.

Oh and if anyone is interested.
I believe that all child molestors should be shot once in the back of their head and the family of the molested should be given first choice to pull the trigger.
I also feel that anyone who profits from kiddie porn, which may include the internet servers, should also be shot.
Gay or straight, a molestor is a monster that needs to be killed.

Women are trafficked out of Russia to short lives of prostitution and slavery in USA and Europe on a daily basis, it is another issue that comes up in Russian press and only occasionally. Face it, I don't believe people in America are really to very concerned with well being of Russian women getting exported for sex slavery in America.

Actually I do not believe in the death penalty, there are far more effective means like castration and long sentences breaking rocks in Siberia that are far more judicious than just killing someone and relieving them of further misery. Russia should get into the prison business, and America should send all the overcrowded prisoners to Russia, labour camps are sitting desolate in the deep of Siberia just longing for "zeeks".

 

I think that the reasons why most americans are not concerned with russian women being used as sex slaves are that the americans with those women could care less as long as they get what they want and the majority of us who do not engage in that activity are clueless on the scope of the problem.
With that said I would have to admit that a more conservative nation would be more active in stopping sex slaves and child sexual abuse but my nation is very much to the left on these issues.

I would love to send our sex perverts to Russia but we have a hard time just getting our terrorists to Cuba without the "left" screaming for non-citizen rights to kill us.

 

Likewise some of these women married to Americans have been murdered in America, just like the children from Russia.

It is not the majority, but a small minority, but a problem still.

 

I guess we both feel that there is no greater crime then a crime done against an innocent defenseless child.

Just how old does 'an innocent defenseless child' have to be?
Are there limits that can or have been set?

Well OldDan, I am against most abortions so it starts pretty young with me.
Now as far as how old, I believe that men should be with women and let the kids be kids.
Age of consent should be 18, after all that is agreed upon age for being knowledgeable to vote or to enlist.

High School Sweetheart stuff is between the teens and their families.

Sorry Midas, there are certain individuals that cannot formulate a conclusive statement without having believed they found what they need on wikipedia to support their argument.

 

I do not think much of wikipedia myself but I do use it on occassion for there are those who seem to think of it as a primary source and need to see it as a reference in order to believe what is being presented.

By defintion I think it would be considered a secondary source at best but there are a few here and just a few that seem to ignore all references that I post but that one. So I throw it out there once in awhile.
