I have sat here and named groups and sects of islam that have little or no terrorists as members and in fact opperate huge organizations just to help people...like the Aga Khan foundation but you just wont see how people can be muslim and good decent people...or you write them off as 'not true muslims'...there is nothing that could change your view and you arent looking for discussion, you are just ranting and preaching. I have met and made friends with ex-muslims...people that have denounced and left the faith of islam. They have an interesting take on the subject...especially growing up and explaining how they chanted prayers in arabic with NO idea what it means! They explained it is a mind controlling religion that is taught from day one to hate the West and of course, the Jews (descendants from pigs and apes). I love a good sit down with those that believe that they are muslim. I ask them about the koran, like passges 9:5 or 4:34 and they always resort to it being "a big misunderstanding." I ask them to denounce the 100's of passages of hate, and you should see them side-step the issue...almost like watching an Obama/McCain debate. They are in a tough spot...because it is AGAINST islam to leave this faith. If you do, a fatwa can be issued. Look it up!
I dont believe he has ever talked to a regular old muslim, I doubt he has ever been to the middle east and met them at their homes and seen them go about thier daily lives, how they open their homes to you. But I know what Midas means when it comes to the religious side stepping the bad bits. I have produced hundreds of passages from the bible that talk about stoning people to death for the least transgression, eating dung, genocide (the stuff that caused the inquisition, the first holocaust, etc...)...they all say that those passages dont mean anything anymore and the church was wrong for calling for the death of the Jews ,who according to them, were 'more vile than the mohamedian as they killed christ so before we venture into the holy land, we must rid ourselves of the abomination that lives amongst us' Yet they will not hesitate to use passages from the old test that fit their religious agendas or make a point they are trying to make about what god wants...they want it both ways so they pick and choose, if it is supporting a point they are trying to make, its valid, if it isnt and its negative...then it no longer is the word of god...see god wasnt perfect, he changed his mind apparently and somehow christians know what bits still hold true and what bits dont... tell that to God hates fags, america, etc..etc..church though, I guess thats what happens when you read a bible without KNOWING what bits arent valid anymore...seems like a dangerous text!! In the Lebanese civil war and after there were a number of atrocities carried out by all sides, and yes I include the Christian Phalange (1976 Karantina massacre) and PLO (1976 Damour massacre) later there were the Sabra and Chatila massacre (15 and 16 September 1982).
The Sabra and Shatila massacre was orchestrated with the Israeli army, an obvious moment where some zealots in the Israeli army acted out of regulation. At least now with Syria recognising Lebanon after 60 + years of independence, hopefully there will be peace and Syria will cease aiding and abetting Hizbollah.
