The honeymoon is over before it even began.

I was in a leadership class back in the early/mid 90ies and race was one of the first open discussions that we had on the very first day.

During that conversation, one of the white guys asked "Why isn't there a White Entertainment Television' channel?"

One of the black guys in the class immediately said "There is. It is every channel on your TV except for BET."

 

No it is not, we have like 2-3 Spanish language stations, the cable company has to by some law. Even though we have practically no Spanish speakers where I live. You are actually more likely to hear Polish or German in conversation here.

 

This was the early/mid 90ies. I don't think there were Spanish language stations broadcast here at that time. And, besides, those channels are for whiteys too. I am just a non-Hispanic Caucasian on most forms.

 

There are parts of the area where I live that are predominately Polish, and you still hear Polish spoken. A town about 20 miles south is predominately German, and you still hear older people speak German, even though they and their ancestors have been here for a long time, well over 100 years. Of course they all speak English, but the German Americans speak it with a bit of an accent, which is curious - because they were more likely than not to have been born here.

At least I can understand the Poles from speaking Russian, but the Germans? Nae chance o' it.

Hmmm ... oddly enough i had mentioned a similar subject the other day while watching tv with the missus , here in Pa just ouside Phillie the tv channel personalities are predominantly black.Even the commercials.

One show id love to know how it got on the air , house of payne , its painful to watch and the most talentless crowd assembled.A token fat white guy for whipping boy of course.Come back Bill Cosby ..all is forgiven
