Anybody think the sentence Cashman gave that guy was appropriate?
If not, what would have been appropriate?
What do you think should be done now?

Remember...liberals want to "reach out" and "understand" criminals, child rapists, and terrorists held in Cuba. Also...Vermont is a liberal haven and are you really surprised by these actions?

If that was my daughter/son, I could honestly say I would have shot and killed this repeated rapist that received only 60 days in jail . I would have declared "temporary insanity" and demanded a jury trial.

When are the courts going to start to care more about the victims than the animals that commit these terrible crimes?

Courts will start to care more as soon as you the voters show your displeasure, you have to get the legislature to change and enfoce existing laws thats what you pay them to do.

I'm not surprised about the decision, but I am angry.
If it was my son/daughter, I probably would have shot him too.
And if Moen decides to stick up for the judge, that will show what kind of
"family man" he says he is.

Got to love the judge's reasoning for giving such a short sentence, that there wasn't a sufficient treatment program available in the prison he would be sent to. Another one of those judges that believes that the primary purpose of prison sentences is rehabilitation, rather than punishment apparently. Either I'm cynical or just realistic, but I still believe the primary reasons for putting a criminal in prison are a) punish the criminal, b) take the criminal out of circulation so he isn't free to continume to commit crimes, and c) deter people considering to commit crimes from doing so because of the likelhood of being caught and receiving significant punishment for it, in that order. Rehabilitation would be nice too... but it's statistically unrealistic at best.

Anyway it seems this guy's sentence is being reviewed... the judge agreed to give him a longer sentence if a treatment program is made available to him. Still makes me wonder, if the judge was so concerned that this guy's pedophilic tendencies had to be treated, how was letting him free after only 2 months in prison supposed to help? I guess consideration over criminals trumps both consideration for past and potential victims of criminals, or even basic logic, in this judge's mind... sad to say there's more like him out there.

Well, de judge just extended the sentence to from 3 to10 years in prison for Mr. Mark Hulett, age 34 from Williston Vermont. Then an extended parole for another few years. This came about after a nudge from the state legislature and the governor making suggestions for his removal from the bench.

While I was at it, I ran his name through a serch process and came up with the followings:
A Mr. Ed Cashman of Vermont making posts on the NAMBLA site. A Mr. E. Cashman making posts on the same site and also from Vermont. And finally a Edward Cashman posting again on the NAMBLA site and from Vermont. Do you suppose it's the Judge trying to give some poor kid a little rehilibitation?

Damn, the gays would even be ashamed of this guy!:kewl:

If Cashman is a member of NAMBLA it is a shame that the mainstream news didn't point this out.
What kind of person would protect the child abuser and not the child?

What's NAMBLA? Is it a faggot-rights group or something?

North American Man Boy Love Association: a despicable pervert society that champions people who molest children. We should hand them over to some Afghan warlords, they would know what to do with them. :)
