The owner of a Texas taco restaurant that closed down in the labor shortage says larger companies poached his staff with $5,000 pay rises

I can't help but think of all the conservatives who ever said "Then get a better job!" when discussions of low pay or minimum wage came up. People did, and now they are all, "Wait, not like that..."

    Y'know what's amazing to me?

After struggling so mightily for months on end to hire workers for our manufacturing operations, we suddenly have 1 or 2 applicants at a time sitting in HR waiting for job interviews. Coincidentally, federal COVID benefits for NH residents ran out in late June and, just like flicking a light switch, people wanted jobs a couple of weeks later . . . MAGIC!!!

Once again, liberals deny the relationship between giveaways and sloth.

Next they'll be denying the relationship between hyperinflation and giving away all of these benefits, driving up the minimum wage, and shutting down supply chains.

Understanding causality is not a strength of the liberals . . . it is their weakness.

The problem, among countless others, with the left is they believe that raising the minimum wage would correct the this situation. I’m sure many on the left will use examples like this to justify illegal immigration because we need “more workers”.
@FryDaddyJr, congrats on your new avatar. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

Also anyone worth hiring is already working. Unless you're willing to poach them for a bunch of money

Are your taco stands going out of business?

You need to change that statement to “anyone willing to work is already working”

Well, if I lived in a state where companies are stupid enough to hire slackers that surf and post on the internet all day, I suppose the unemployment rate might be lower there too.

So 1/3 of working age men aren't worth hiring?

"Almost one-third of all working-age men in America aren’t doing diddly-squat. They don’t have a job, and they aren’t looking for one either. One-third of all working-age men. That’s almost 30 million people!"

I don't have a job and I am not looking for one either. I doubt that I'd take a job if one was offered to me. I am completely capable of trading my free time for additional income, I won't. Everybody is hiring, but I am not applying. I could easily be unemployed today, and I am, and start a brand new job tomorrow. Not going to happen.

I'm no even sure what someone is saying when they call someone a Marxist. I've never met a Marxist or I'd ask. Does it mean that Karl Marx said something and they think that I'd agree with what he said? Does it mean that I follow some sort of Marxist Philosophy that I have never read? Or does it mean that Karl Marx was actually right about a few things and that those truths ring true today?

I think it is rather easy to label someone a Marxist but much harder to actually explain what that means. Simple labels are just easier for the anti-intellectuals.
