    Just to keep the record straight;
Charlie Daniels, famed musician, writes regarding his Guantanamo Bay trip.

I've just returned from the Guantanamo Bay (Cuba) Naval Air Station base where we did three shows for the troops and toured several locations around the post visiting with some of the finest military personnel on planet earth.

The kids seemed to really enjoy the shows and especially liked "This Ain't No Rag, It's A Flag" and "In America." We had a great time with them.

We saw Camp X-Ray - where the Taliban detainees are being held - only from a distance, but I picked up a lot of what's going on there from talking with many different people.

The truth of the matter is that this operation is under a microscope. The Red Cross has an on-site presence and watches everything that goes on very closely.

The media is not telling you the whole truth about what's going on over there. The truth is that these scum bags are not only being treated humanely, but they are probably better off health-wise and medically than they've ever been in their lives. They are fed well, able to take showers and receive state-of-the-art medical care. And have their own Moslem chaplain.

I saw several of them where they were being treated in a state-of-the-art medical facility.

Now let's talk about the way they treat our people. First of all, they have to be watched constantly. These people are committed and wanton murderers who are willing to die just to kill someone else. One of the doctors told me that when they had Talibans in the hospital the staff had to really be careful with needles, pens and anything else which could be used as a weapon. They also throw their excrement and urine on the troops who are guarding them. And our guys and gals have shown great restraint in not retaliating.

We are spending over a million dollars a day maintaining and guarding these nasty killers and anyone who wants to see them brought to the U.S.A. for trial is either out of their heads or a lawyer looking for money and notoriety. Or both.

I wish the media and the Red Cross and all the rest of the people who are so worried about these criminals would realize that this is not a troop of errant Boy Scouts. These are killers of the worst kind. They don't need protection from us, we need protection from them.

If you don't get anything else out of this soapbox, please try to realize that when you see news coverage much of the time you're not getting the whole story, but an account filtered through a liberal mindset with an agenda.

We have two fights on our hands, the war against terror and the one against the loud-mouthed lawyers and left-wing media who would sap the strength from the American public by making us believe that we're losing the war or doing something wrong in fighting it. Remember these are the same people who told us that Saddam Hussein's Republican guard was going to be an all but invincible enemy and that our smart bombs and other weapons were not really as good as the military said that they were.

They also took up for Bill Clinton while he was cavorting around the Oval office with Monica Lewinsky while the terrorists were gaining strength and bombing our Embassies and dragging the bodies of dead American heroes around the dusty streets of Somalia.

It's a shame that we can't have an unbiased media who would just report the truth and let us make up our own minds. Here I must commend Fox News for presenting both sides much better than the other networks.

They are leaving the other cable networks in the dust. People want to be told the truth. Our military not only needs but deserves our support. Let's give it to them.

The next time you read a media account about the bad treatment of the Taliban in Cuba, remember what I told you. Been there, done that.

Footnote: I got an e-mail from a rather irate first cousin of mine the other day who has a daughter who's a lawyer, and she seemed to think that I was painting all lawyers with the same brush. Please understand that I'm not doing that at all. That would be like saying that all musicians were drug addicts. There are a lot of good and honest attorneys out there. I happen to have one of them. But it seems that they never get any airtime. It's always the radicals who get their opinions heard, who fight the idea of the military tribunals and cite The Constitution and the integrity of America as the source for justifying their opinions.

Well, first of all The Constitution says, "We the people of the United States," it doesn't mention any other country. And, secondly, as far as integrity is concerned, I don't think some of these folks would know integrity if it bit them in the posterior.

That statement brings us to the crux of the problem. All of you KILLKILLKILL people are trying to prove your manhood. Guys like Moen and me do not feel we need to do that, we are secure in our manhood.

Quick Dog can I ask you just who do you think sponsers most of the arab terrorists and has done for a great many years through what they call 'Charity'? you might well be suprised to learn that it is the Saudies, they have found it a good way to divert the attention of those who would otherwise seek to overthrow them.
Now as for Sadam yes he is a killer ranks up there with Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, Ho, Khomani and many others but lets not forget we were happy to support him in his fight against Iran & its Cleric leadership. My words were said sincearly and I see nothing flamboyant about them, The Taliban recieved financial aid from Saudi, the PLO did & Hamas does, the leader of Qyahida is a Saudi and from a moneyd family even Sadam recieved charitable donations from them.

Wow, that sure was an intelligent well-thought statement. You need to go find your buddy Osama and hide in that cave with him and the rest of the "talk big, run fast" experts. You are getting way too desperate and beyond being able to carry on an intelligent debate with any longer. Just WHEN did you secure your manhood with Moen???

Just the type of response I would expect from a low quality person. The fact is that people (like yourself) who always have to attack the powerless (like the Muslims) have major problems with their self image. If you don't think W and Rummy and all of those sickos have major self image problems you are blind. The root of this war is W's lack of selfworth, and those who go along with it do so because they share his sickness. Guys like you are such extreme examples of this that it is amazing that you can even function.

I usually just like to watch these threads for their sheer entertainment value but that statement is so wrong it has actually brought me out of lurker mode.

It is religion walking into that room. Preachers preach it and religious teachers teach it. It is religion that gets those people to blow themselves up.

You might be able to say it isn't mainstream Islam or you might be able to argue that it isn't proper Islam but there is no way anyone should buy into it not being religion walking into that room. It is.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled argument... ;)

A "leftist fascist"? Maybe that is a communist?

Once again Quickdog, you are correct. Was there ever a communist nation that was not a police state?

Danr, how can the muslims be powerless when they have a population in the billions,
control most of the world's oil wealth and have spent billions upon billions to own majority shares in western media outlets?

De Orc I agree with you that we should be fighting a total war and care less what anyone thinks for we, US and Britain, are still world powers and are not acting as such. However, my friend I feel that this is a religious war but not a war upon a people. We must defeat Islam or there will be no Hindu's, buddists, Various branches of Christianity, etc but I hope that if we ever act like a world power and take out the clerics of hate then maybe democracy will take hold and over time the women and their children will leave the influence of that religion of hate and bondage and be free themselves of that evil.

As for us giving Iraq arms when they were fighting Iran and giving Iran arms when they were fighting Iraq, I do not see how this was a bad thing. We had two of the biggest armies in the muslim middle east fighting it out instead of fighting us. Trying to foster that blood letting as long as it could last was a great idea. Who knows, if it lasted another 5 years, shame the big K died, then maybe most of the supporters of those regimes would have died out as well and the voice of reason would have taken over. At least in Iran which was pro-west to a large extent before Jimmy Carter kicked out the shah and brought in the big K and his muslim groupies of hate from France.

Steve that picture post still has me grinning.

    Danr,

I am afraid you are making a class one scientific error. You read my Saudi statement and made a class-one scientific error. I was not implying that Saudis are wimpy. I just think that many Saudi men tend to lack principles which define "old school" western manhood. Real men don't treat women badly and look down on the less fortunate. In my book, real men don't double-deal and lead double lives when they travel abroad. Real men, at least from my western viewpoint, are not afriad to get dirty and do hard physical work. To many of us, hard physical work is a badge of honor. I have known a lot of Arab men, rich and middle class. I have observed a lot of hypocrisy in their behavior. I also never saw a Saudi man get dirty.

As far as your kill-kill-kill insuation, when have I promoted killing anyone around here? I rarely talk tough. IMHO, it's not a healthy choice. You won't get me into a flaming match. I just don't care. :smile

I may have been a bit out of line there. I agree about the creepy treatment of women in the Muslim world. As a matter of fact I wrote letters for Amnesty International to the leadership of the Taliban on behalf of Islamic women. I had no idea at the time that it would be resolved in the way it has.
As for the KILLKILLKILL thing you must admit that attitude rears it ugly head around here too often.

This a term invented by Moen and used by Danr when they refer to veterans, or anyone who's opinions differ from theirs.
Yet another intelligent quote that we have come to expect from Danr. Good thing you know it all because I can't think of the last time I actually attacked a powerless Muslim? So first we attack and then we kill?? Man, I am learning so much about myself from you!

I have only one Muslim friend. His family was best friends with the Shah of Iran, is very wealthy, owns 4, yes 4, BMW autos, 2 BMW motorcycles and 2 Chevy vans. I'm glad you pointed it out that he is powerless, I always thought the opposite.

Yeah, it's a well know fact that those that have the greatest need to express their "manliness" are really just hiding their latent feelings of homosexuality, It's O.K. guys, Danr and I aren't going to pick on you just because of your sexual orientation. We "UNDERSTAND" you. :smile

    Moen1305 Not Republican!

Lurk all you want...It IS an Ideology otherwise ALL Muslims would be attacking us and not just a small percentage of all those that are Muslim. You can't blame an entire religion even if those doing the terrorist acts use it as a ralleying cry for their cause. Did you blame all Christians for the nuts in Waco? It's the same mentality.

HA, HA! That's a good point there Moen. Especially since the only post about expressing manliness or manhood originated from Danr concerning the two of you. HA HA!

Meon...you are sounding like the broken record. Go ahead and bring up Waco or the OK Federal Building bombing...AGAIN!! You forgot to mention that other Christians went after these nut jobs and brought them to justice. So you listed two isolated incidents over the last 10 years. Big freakin' deal. Why it's not a big deal is that us radical Christians (I consider myself Catholic-Lite) didn't celebrate in the streets and thank allah for these crimes. Your muslim buddies look at television cameras and claim "religion of peace" while in reality their actions prove otherwise. They "understand" why their fellow mulsims committed these crimes (let's blame the Jews..again) and worst yet, support and harbor these animals.

Don't try to compare a crime committed by "Christians" to those committed by Muslims. You know as will as everybody else that Chrisitans, Jews, and other non-mulsims groups have the backbone to police their own, capture these criminals, and see that justice is served.

Can you reallly tell this forum that Mulsims have any "backsbone" to stop terroristic attacks against us infidels??? Why would they? It is allah's will.

The difference between a couple of crazy, violent ideologues (Abortion Clinic Bombings, etc) or even a small cult of crazy ideologues (Jamestown, etc), and a large, violent, ideologic movement based deeply in religious ideas (Radical Islamic Terrorism) should be self evident to anyone. If it is not, I question your ability to see outside your box.

You might want to go back and actually read what I posted.

You must be kidding. WACO was an example of the left going crazy when it had some power. Why is it that the left commits sins against mankind and then blames others for those sins. For those of you who do not remember the following took place.

Waco occurred under the presidency of Bill Clinton, with Janet Reno and Wesley Clark in supporting roles. IT was an abuse of leftist power in the killing of 74 people. Below is a list of the children that were killed under Clinton's watch and Janet Reno's direction when as head of the "Justice Department" she approved a plan to use CS gas against those barricaded inside. Tanks carrying the CS gas entered the compound. Later that day, fire broke out, and all seventy-four men, women and children inside perished. Burnt and shot as they tried to escape.

Below is a list of the children that were killed under Clinton's watch and Janet Reno's direction
Lisa Martin 13 Sheila Martin, Jr. 15
Rachel Sylvia 12 Hollywood Sylvia 1
Joseph Martinez 8 Abigail Martinez 11
Crystal Martinez 3 Isaiah Martinez 4
Audrey Martinez 13 Melissa Morrison 6
Chanel Andrade 1 Cyrus Koresh 8
Star Koresh 6 Bobbie Lane Koresh 2
Dayland Gent 3 Page Gent 1
Mayanah Schneider 2 Startle Summers 1
Serenity Jones 4 Chica Jones 2
    Little One Jones 2

This was after a a 51-day siege. That included such psy-war tactics as sleep deprivation of the inhabitants of the community by means of all-night broadcasts of recordings of the screams of rabbits being slaughtered.

Woman and children were present. Why didn't the leftwing media objected?
Because they didn't care about those women and children.
By the way David K used to go jogging every morning and could have been picked up without an incident and then brought to trial for any crime that he may or may not have committed. Mind you the guy was nutty but that was no excuse to kill 74 people who had isolated their cult from the world.

Janet Reno was a leftist fascist. With blood of children upon her broken soul.

I think we all know how effective Danr was with this action.

Why not withdraw all the troops and have Danr and Moen write letters to their friends in the Taliban asking them to stop killing innocent men and women around the world, and live in peace! Why hasn't any body thought if this earlier? Please Danr, write your letter

Is that so? I guess that was the reasoning behind your telling everyone you were 6'3" and weighed 250 lbs, but your friends didn't think you were fat. Oh yes and it was you who came up with something called a circle-jerk, wan't it?

You may be onto something here Moen. Now go find your purse and go out and stand on the corner.

Old dan you would be surprised how effective AI's letter writing is, they get oppressive govs to release and/or allow attorneys and families to visit disappeared people on a daily basis. Spend some time on their site and you will find some cool stories. You should try writing letters you can pick and choose your causes.
